"Ryan, I'm not your keeper. I don't have your keys."
"I know, but I need to get downtown by 4pm."
"4pm? We're in Everett at 3:30 on a Wednesday, and you need to be downtown in 30 minutes!"
"Oops?"
"Here, your keys were where you always put them…coffee table by the window."
"Thanks Dad, what would I ever do with out you?"
"You would have killed yourself, now go to work!"
"Gee, Daddy would have never said that…but that's why you're my favorite"
"Suck ups stopped working 10 years ago!"
"I know, I know, but I like to try. Oh, I almost forgot something. Since I'm going to be late anyway, how is Uncle Lance doing lately?"
"Damn, I was hoping I wouldn't have to get in to that. He's fine, but I guess it was hit and miss for awhile."
"I'm sorry, I should go."
"Okay, but you're coming to dinner Friday?"
"Yeah, I want to meet the boyfriend as much as you do!"
"I just worry about your brothers, they are a handful"
"I know, see ya Dad!"
"Be careful Ryan!"
The door closes and Tyler walks in to the great room. Sitting in his suede chair he starts to cry. 'Why did you have to do it James? I didn't want you to get hurt!' Tyler sits there and cries until he falls asleep.
Ring!
"Justin, can you grab the phone?"
"Got it! Hello? What do you mean you're going to be late? You've known about dinner for 3 weeks now. Yeah, I know. Well we'll try to hold dinner for you. See you soon Ryan!"
"Let me guess, traffic?"
"Yeah, same excuse as always."
"Well I'll just turn the oven off and the roast can finish cooking while he fights the traffic."
"Daddy, can I ask you a question?"
"Yeah, you can ask me anything."
"Why is Dad so mad at Uncle James?"
"Um, well I guess he feels a little upset because Tyler, James, and I had a discussion about something and James backed out of the deal."
"Is that why he is always sick?"
"We are not talking about this right now! Nick, go set the table. Justin, I need to talk to you in the den."
"Daddy?"
"Do as your father asked, he and I need to talk."
As Justin and Tyler enter the den, "What is wrong with you?"
"Me? You're the one who won't talk about James at all without getting mad or crying. Tyler, it's not your fault. James did what he did on his own accord. I know you wanted to protect everyone, but he was trying to help us then; trying to help you!"
"Justin, it hurts...my clinic did this to him and I should have stopped it before it happened."
"No, our clinic isn't to blame. James knew the risk and he elected to do it anyway. I want to tell the boys today what happened. They need to know."
Tyler starts to cry. "I can't, they will know I did this to him."
"No you didn't...there are things you don't know that we need to talk about, but I need to tell my sons what happened."
"Okay, we'll tell them after dinner."
"Thank you, I'll look after dinner while you freshen up."
"Kyle, Nick, Ryan! Dinner!"
"So Kyle, who is your guest tonight?"
"This is Eric, he and I met a few weeks ago in New York. He is in web design and administration for a major content company."
"Good to meet you Eric," the other 4 men greted him.
"Well, here is the roast. Enjoy!"
After the 6 men finished having dinner they all went to the great room to sit around the fire. "Dad, we're all worried about you. What's been going on?"
"I have been having a hard time with your uncle. I haven't talked about it, but tonight Justin and I have decided that you boys need to know what happened."
"Kyle, I feel out of place. I'll leave you to talk with your dads. See you at the apartment?"
"I'm sure you could stay, but yeah. I guess it has become an awkward moment for you. I'm sorry."
"Don't be! It was nice meeting all of you, and the dinner was really good Sir."
"He's calling us Sir already Tyler. Why couldn't our boys learn that?" Justin joked.
"Maybe because we hate it," Tyler joked back. "Eric, please don't call us Sir...we hate it with a passion!"
"Okay, take care everyone!" Eric leaves.
"Understand that what we are going to tell you can be hard to talk about. It's time we came out about all the secrets."
"So you're going to tell us about uncle James?"
"Yes, but we are also going to include some other things. How we were able stay together, what James did, what I did, and how we decided to adopt."
"Okay Justin, where do you want to start?"
"Damn baby, we've done it 4 times already! I don't know if I could go again. You tired me out, but I love you." Justin and Tyler kiss.
"Just one more time, please. It's my favorite ride."
"Okay, 1 more time!"
Tyler and Justin got in line again for the roller coaster. They spend hours every week at the Seattle Center just going on rides and signing autographs. It was such a common occurance that most people expected them to be there and didn't bother them anymore.
"Shall we go home to Ishla now?"
"Yes dear, let's go home and finish this day right."
"So what's the big secret?"
"Well that day, we came home to the house we had built on 14th and 62nd and we had a message from the clinic. Your uncle James had overheard our talk before on a vaccine. The clinic had refused him because they didn't have anything that he could use since all the research was done on your father and I. We talked to him and we agreed not to go any farther with it."
"Well," Tyler started. "Your uncle didn't know when to say die, so he broke in to my office there and borrowed the box I had labeled for your Dad. Inside was the two vaccine doses and the follow up meds. He brought them back to the states and hid them for awhile so it wasn't obvious he stole them. Two months later he fell ill when he took the first dose. No one knew what was wrong and he got better in about two weeks. The next month he used the second stronger dose and the follow up meds." Tyler begins to sob.
"Baby, it's okay. He told us afterward when he was in the hospital. We were both so angry. We called the clinic and they sent something that should have almost reversed everything that taken place. It looked like it had for about 15 years. I'm sure you all remember James getting sick again. It was about 2 years after we adopted Nick."
"Daddy, you feel responsible for it don't you?"
"Yes Ryan, I do feel that way. I had many chances to destroy that box after your dad and I agreed for him not to take it. I never thought it important until it was too late."
"It's okay Daddy, we don't blame you. Uncle James doesn't blame you either."
"Nick, I know he doesn't. It's just," Tyler begins to cry. "I wish this never would have happened. He's stuck in that clinic 11 months per year in order to be able to function. I just miss the way were able to talk for hours, but now he can't talk more then a few words. I stopped torturing him a few months ago and started just writing letters."
"Tyler, there is something I never told you. James didn't steal the box for me. I had a box made for him."
Tyler starts to yell. "You did what!"
"The box for me I took and it worked. I have been immune for 18 years, but never had the heart to tell you. I was afraid you'd get mad at me and James for not telling you."
"Oh my god, then what happened. Why did you do alright and James didn't?"
"We found that out last month. We found the problem and we have it fixed now. The best thing of all is James is going to be alright."
"Damn straight I'm alright now!"
"James?"
"Tyler, I'm sorry."
"No James, don't be sorry. You did a brave thing and we beat it. I'm just sorry it had to take so long. I've been mad at you for 18 years and I should have been thanking you. Please forgive me."
"Anytime Tyler, you are an amazing person and I felt I had to help anyway I could."
"So Justin, were those broken condom scenes planned or not?"
"Um, yeah. I knew I was safe and I knew that I loved you enough even if I wasn't."
"I love you. So even though our sons don't need to here this, want to head in to Ishla tonight?"
"Um dad, that's nasty!"
"Shut up Nick. We don't tell you that when you have sex it's nasty."
"Kyle, you have been really quiet tonight. What's wrong?"
"I just haven't been feeling well. It's like I'm being drained."
"Oh, that's the other thing we should tell them isn't it."
"I think so."
"Boys, tomorrow we want you all here to meet some friends of your Dad and mine. Their names are Quinton and Kelly. They will explain the reasons you boys are always getting tired and drained almost everyday."
"What they will tell you will change your life, it did ours!"
**This is the end of part four, I received a lot of ideas and encouragement to continue my stories. I hope you all like how things are going. Next part will have the adoption and more about the sex. Thanks for reading my story!**
