Do you tell everyone you’re single even when you’re not so you don’t upset you fans?
I am single! Honestly! If I’m in a club, girls say they want to be with me, but I know it’s only ’cause of the band. I’m just not that kind of guy.

Are you really all still friends?
Definitely. Myself and Kian have been close mates since we were nine or ten so I know all his bad points, like he can be very grumpy!

Have you changed for the worst?
We’ve all had periods of being an idiot, but then we’d be sat down and told, "This is how things are going to be if you want to stay in the band!" We can be honest with each other.

Why was covering Uptown Girl special?
When the song first came out I was only four – my mum bought it for me – but I said right at the beginning that if we covered a record I wanted to sing Uptown Girl.

And finally, have you any more plans to write, ’cause that’s where the money is?
You do look at the money side of it, but it’s nicer to see your name on an album sleeve. That’s one thing money can’t buy!
