Ralf's Biography

Name - Ralf Karl-Heinz Schumacher
Date of Birth - 30th June 1975
Birthplace - Hurth-Hermuhlheim, Germany
Family - Married to Cora. Son, David. Father, Rolf.
Mother, Elisabeth (who sadly is no longer with us). Brother, Michael.
Place of Residence - Hallwang, Austria
Likes - Peace and quiet! That's why he moved from Monaco to Austria, and beacuse he wanted
David to have a garden to play in. He also enjoys hunting and flying - he pilots his own plane.
Dislikes - Being driven places - he'd much rather drive himself,
even driving to the track before races.
Journalists - he's had a hard time in the press recently, so can you blame him?!

Ralf on his favourite breakfast

”I'd go for bread with ham and cheese, and perhaps some Nutella or jam.
I usually drink coffee and water. As for my favourite place in the world to have breakfast,
that's at home with my family. Meals are one of the few times we can sit together
and talk, so I really enjoy them.”

Ralf on holiday destinations

“If I am heading far afield I'm a big fan of Dubai.
People imagine that it's always scorching hot in that part of the Middle East,
but Dubai actually has a very pleasant climate outside of the very hot summer months.
Contrary to some reports, I don't own a place there – but I do like to visit because
the hotels are great and the hospitality is excellent.
“During the winter months, I love to spend time in ski resort of St. Johann,
near Kitzbühel in the Tirol region of Austria. It's about an hour's drive from my house.
I tend to go with friends and family to do some skiing and things like that,
and I find it a very relaxing place to be when we're outside the Formula 1 season.”
