Oxana is an only child and was raised by her
mother because her parents divorced when she was 3. Her father, Gennady was a
nuclear physicist and her mother, Yelena a psychiatrist (she is retired now.)
Oxana is also very close to her grandparents. Currently, Oxana is single, but
she states that she has a special man in her life.
She loves animals,
especially dogs, and owns three of them. She also loves to cook, and her
specialty is "Veal a la
Holland" which is roast veal cooked with milk cream. Her interests include,
reading detective stories, as well as writings by the Russian authors Bulgavok
and Dostoevsky the theater, painting, philosophy, and the fine arts. She can
play the saxophone, enjoys swimming and gymnastics, she is also a champion
volleyball player, and an expert in karate and judo. In addition, firing weapons
is a favorite pastime of her, and she can quickly and easily assemble and take
apart a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
In her native Pskov,
Russia, Oxana graduated from a police-juridical college, and a police secondary
school with honors. Shortly after graduating and becoming a policewoman, Oxana
was assigned to do detective works, and in August 2002, she was promoted to the
rank of police captain and currently remains as stint as a detective, Oxana
decided to expand her horizons and moved to Saint Petersburg where she
attended the Russian
Interior Ministry University. Oxana once again, she graduated with honors and
soon began a doctoral program in Civil Law; she successfully defended her Ph.D.
dissertation in Civil Law on December 27, 2002.
While working on her doctorate degree, Oxana also taught classes at the
university, and currently she continues with her teaching duties as a professor
of Civil Law.
Oxana attained universal
fame when she won the most prestigious and important beauty pageant on the
planet, the Miss Universe Pageant, in May 29, 2002.
Previously she had won the Miss Kalokagatija 1999 (in Greek means Kind,
Clever/Intelligent), the Miss Saint Petersburg Pageant in 1999, and the Miss
Russia Pageant in April of 2001. Oxana decided to give up her title of Miss
Universe last September 2002 because she wanted to continue her studies and to
take care of her sick relatives. She is however, without a doubt, the most
beautiful woman to ever compete in any beauty pageant, and definitely the most
accomplished. How many beauty
queens can say that they are a policewoman, a detective, a lawyer, a university
professor, AND Miss Universe 2002, all before the age of 25!!
After her reign as Miss Universe 2002, Oxana returned to
Russia, where she embarked in other very exciting endeavors. She was cast as the
host of Spokoinoi Nochi, Malishi, the number one television children's show in
Russia, and in July 2003, she was a co-host of the 2003 and 2004 Russian version of the
very popular European game show, Fort Boyard.
She also became the
co-chairman of
Russia's social youth movement “Energy of Life”, and became a member of the Pro
Kremlin Russian Party of Life. Oxana is a true role model and an inspiration.
She is a modern woman whose sincerity, strong will, and intelligence have given
her incredible accomplishments.
Oxana, we wish you all of the best, now and always!
