| Fangio and Senna |
In 1991, returning from Australia, where he raced the last race of the season, Senna stopped in Buenos Aires to spend the night and continue his trip to Brazil the next day. As he always did when he went to Buenos Aires, he invited Juan Manuel Fangio, five-time Formula 1 world champion and a myth to the Argentineans, to dinner. Kind, Fangio went to pick up Senna at the Sheraton Hotel, where the Brazilian was lodged. After talking for some time, they took the elevator to go to the restaurant. The elevator stopped at a floor and an Argentinean got in. Looking at both, he whispered: "Fangio? Senna? I'll take the other elevator. Not even my children will believe that I was in the same elevator with the two greatest racing drivers in the world. |
