+In The Round - World Of Our Own+

Date: 9th May, 2002

Place: Secc, Glasgow

Its 8.45pm! In exactly 15 minutes from now Westlife are gonna be on stage and the screams are going to be deafening.. like last year! But something very unexpected happens the lights go down at this time but no one is really wondering why they are going down 15 minutes early. We see the 5 globes that were on the stage, which is a circle in the center of the hall, rise into the air. The screams are really really loud. As they reach the top they come out towards the crowd. Girls are taking photos, screaming, waving their delly-boppers and flashing sticks. The globes start turning around and little doors open on them and we see Westlife climbing out them. The scream rise above deafening point at this stage but i don't really care as i am joining in with them (for a change! well i am closer to the stage this time, why not join in? lol) I am in the middle of Kian and Shane (not literally mind, tho that would be a rather nice thing... *thinks* oh back to the concert! *turns red*) As Nicky is my fave Westlife i am hunting for him and find him on the other side of Kian! The flashing from cameras going off around the stage is actually sort of blinding in a way.

Anyway the 5 lads make it onto the stage very very safely (i stopped praying! lol) and they launch into World Of Our Own! As they are singing they walk around the stage with Nicky walking backwards at one point and nearly falling into the pit where the two guys are playing the guitars! (nice going Nix!) The camera flashes are still going off as the song comes to an end! The boyz are kitted on in some very sexy long leather coats and are dressed in black! The matrix look! Very sexy!

The screams start up again as they begin singing Bop Bop Baby! There isn't a person in the hall that isn't singing along to this one, including the dad i had sitting beside me! Its an excellent start to the show and the crowd is really going and its only 10 minutes into the show as well!

We have a little speech from Shane welcoming us to the show (thats darn right sweet of ya Shane!) and asking if we're having a good time! One thing come to mind here... we are standing right in front of Westlife, why wouldn't we be having fun?? lol

After that very energtic start the guys sing Why Do I Love You?! One of my fave songs from the World Of Our Own album so i was totally singing along and cheesing the whole way through that song! My mum really enjoyed that song as its one of her fave songs as well and the fact that we had Kian on our side of the stage for most of the song just made it better for her! (note my mother is a huge Kian fan!! lol)

Back to another song to get ya Bop-Bopping (i know that was uncalled for but so tempting! lol) down the aisle (if you were allowed down the aisle! oh well! haha) its that hidden track in the World Of Our Own album... Bad Girls! This totally get everyone dancing along, including all the dads! (yup the guy beside me was having a rare old boogy to it! no joke!) Shane sneakily changed the lyrics to 'Glasgow Got Some Bad Girls' and that made everyone just scream even more (including me and i even knew he was gonna be doing it coz i knew he done it at Newcastle and Sheffield! lol) Infact that seems to be the only city i made out in that whole part! He seemed to mumble the rest of the cities he mentions, was probably just my hear and the fact that i was surrounded by 9500 screaming fans an all!

Its time for the first change of the night and OMG you can see Westlife getting changed on the screen! Obviously it isn't a live link to their dressing rooms (not fair! lol) but still makes ya scream anyway! lol Westlife come up through the centre of the stage wearing dinner suits and looking very very handsome! From look drop dead sexy to handsome! clever!

The music for Uptown Girl starts and everyone is joining in again! Well it is a very joining in kinda song! Even my dad likes to join in when i play it at home! haha

Its Kians turn for the little speech, this doesn't help my mum much as she is like totally cheesing, and explains about the next song they are gonna sing AND asks us if we'll get Bop Bop Baby to the top of the charts again.. give us a mo to think 'bout that one Kian... *thinks*... *shrugs* suppose so!

After yet another energetic performance its time to slow things down and the lads sit down (with no stools in sight! yippee! lol) and its time for a lil melody. What Makes A Man/Swear It Again are merged together and it is a little freaky at just how easily they can be merged but it was all good!

Its time for my all-time fave Westlife song... If I Let You Go (what? the songs a classic, ai?) Shane changes the lyrics in the song to go as follows 'Day after day, Time passed away, And I just can't get you off my mind, Glasgow knows..' Screams = deafening point once again!

Its Bryans turn for speaking and he can't half go on! My mum shouts in my ear 'Can ya understand what he is saying?' and to be really honest i couldn't make out what he was saying coz of all the screams and the fact he was putting on this really weird scottish accent which was just not working (sorry Bryan babe, as much as i luv ya NEVER do a Scottish accent again and i swear i'll stop trying to do an Irish accent! deal?) He splits the audience into two! One side is side A and the other is side B, and has a little go at some woman in the front row telling her she isn't on side B shes on side A (poor woman! lol) He then goes on to tell us that side A (which is where i am) is to sing 'when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie.." and we end up singing it all and he yells at us to shut up (so my mum yells back at him!) and that side B have to finish it off by shouting '..Amore' He gets us to do it once and we mess it up basically so Bryan tells us to do it again but do it properly (yes sir!) and we finally get it right! woohoo to us! lol

While Bryan was babbling on a piano comes up from the centre of the stage and Kian sits at it. Bryan sits on the floor next to Kians seat as the rest sit next to Bryan. You know that its Angels coming up and my mum is totally ecstatic that Kians playing the piano (did i mention my mum LOVES Kian?) On the screen you see Shane as he is singing his part and you can see his eyes are all watery (god bless his lil cotton socks!!) and i look over and see my aunts friend (who is a Shane fan) crying her eyes out, same goes for a few other people around me which made it totally obvious they were Shane fans! lol When it comes to Bryans part i have honestly never seen him sing something so passionately before! It was amazing to see and amazing to hear as well as he sounded fantastic! But the moment Bryans part was over he was back up to his tricks again! He stood up and started doing a little irish jig with Nicky laughing into the mic as he was trying to sing, Shane wasn't look all too happy, Mark just watching him and Kian didn't even notice coz he was too busy playing the piano to see him really! Bryan then sat on the bench next to Kian and started pressing the keys making Kian laugh so much he nearly lost the plot with the piano but i give it to the lad he got the tune back and Bryan told everyone to give Kian a round of applause for being so professional! *claps*

Its the second change and these dancers appear on stage doing a really weird dance routine! I ain't paying too much attention to this coz i was too busy trying to load my second film spool into my camera to be honest with ya! Westlife appear from below the stage but they don't appear from the centre they are all facing totally different ways and we get Kian (again) and the happiness on my mums face really shows here! lol They are wearing suits again but they are different colours and they are looking very cool! So we have had the sexy look, the handsome look and now the cool look! whatever next?! To add a little extra cool-ness they have canes and my mum shouts in my ear 'I want his walking stick!' This gets me in hysterics of laughter coz my mum starts to wave her walking stick in the air (while holding onto my arm to keep her up!) and we get weird looks! lol

The music for Imaginary Diva begins! Another one of my fave songs from the World Of Our Own album. Everyone is singing along and dancing as Mark belts out the tune while dancing and look super cool! At one point Kian drops his cane and everyone in our section begins laughing at the poor lad with my mum giving them all daggers! lol But Kian just laughs and picks it up and carries on dancing.

Its finally Marks turn to speak and again plugs the Bop Bop Baby song getting to number 1! lol they are really pushing it now! He asks us how the show is going and as an answer he gets *lots of screaming* and he says 'brilliant answer!' While Mark is talking Shane, Bryan and Kian are in the centre of the stage and is facing towards my section. We see Shane putting down a 'imaginary ball' and Bryan turns his cane upside down and pretends to hit the 'ball' and they watch the 'ball' and i think it was a hole in one coz they looked very happy! lol

Next up is If Your Hearts Not In It I have never really been very fond of this song to be really honest with ya but since hearing the lads singing it live here, i have really started taking a shine to the song! We have Kian at our side of the stage again for most of the song (my mums so ready to take a heart attack now!)

The lads go back under the stage and returned minutes later dressed in leather n jeans! Very rock n roll like! Its time for the rock n roll medley and it honestly was one of the many highlights of the show! The first song is Jailhouse Rock! It has everyone dancing along and singing, which is a good sign... i think! Then we have Build Me Up Buttercup sung by Nicky and now its my turn to be cheesing! Nicky sounds amazing as he is singing this and Bryan starts to muck about with Shane who doesn't look in the mood for mucking about as he keeps pushing Bryan away from him and walking away! (haha) Next up is Brown-Eyed Girl, which was changed to 'Glasgow Girl' can't quite remember who sang this one to be honest! i think it was Bryan but i ain't 100% sure on that one! lol Then its Gotta Get Something Started which was a really good performance with Bryan jumping around the stage like a looney (but whats new there? lol) to end the medley off was the best one of all and the one that had Kian and Nicky whacking each others heads off one another while having a mad dance... its Queens Bohemian Rhapsody!! At the end Bryan takes a dive for the floor and Nicky falls next to him and then Bryan starts mucking about and pretends to erm.. dunno if i should say this coz there might be kids reading this and i KNOW kids saw this at the show (lol)..he pretended to f**k Nicky basically! Nicky is killing himself laughing at this! Shane is also the same and has to sit down Mark just looks at them and shakes his head laughing away and Kian just moves away from the pair of them! (good choice, my son!)

The centre of the stages lowers under the stage and we see Bryans head popping up and he pretends to climb out but ya see someone grabbing him and pulling him back, which was quite funny! lol We have a short interlude with some weird guy playing this really old old piano (i know it has a name but i can't think of what its called right now!)

Anyway 3/5ths of Westlife appear on stage! No one is at our side of the stage and everyone at our section gets a tad mad! We find out that on the opposite side Bryans trapdoor has got stuck and you can only see the top of his head and since it is Queen Of My Heart and its Bryan that sings first you can just see the top of Byrans head on the screen and Bryan changes all the words around in his bit to describe his situation which was pretty funny! Then we have butt (yes someones butt!!) on the screen and we see Nicky climbing up through Bryans trapdoor (which is still stuck!) and Nicky runs over to our side of the stage (woohoo we have someone at our bit!) and gives a little jump like he has just suddenly appears and starts singing while trying not to laugh, so it was obvious his trapdoor wouldn't come up and that he had to climb up through Bryans trapdoor! Bryans trapdoor finally comes up properly and the right words are being sung to the song now! lol

Its is finally Nickys turn to talk (yippee!) and he tells us the next song and we've to get Bop Bop Baby to Number 1! do those guys ever give up?! lol

The music to My Love begins as stools appear from the trapdoors. They sit on the stools and as the camera is on Bryan we see him drinking a can of Pepsi and when he sees the camera he walks over to it and pretends to pour some on and everyone is laughing and Shane is looking annoyed coz ppl are laughing when he is singing! THEN Bryan gets this little guy who looked about 15 to come on the stage! He puts his coat on him and get him to sit on his stool! The guy looks terrified as Bryan hands him the mic and tells him to sing Bryans part to My Love. The reply is 'I don't know the words!' I give it up to the guy he sang the words with Bryan telling him what they were and despite being in front of 9500 Westlife fans he done really well!! By the end of the song the guy was belting the song out and looked like he was having a good time! Westlife give the little guy a round of applause and the audience cheer very loudly for the guy! Bryan then says 'Well thats me out of a job!' and everyone is laughing and Nicky says 'thank heavens for that' (cheeky! lol) Bryan give him the rest of his Haribo (which is like 2 sweets! lol) and rest of his can of Pepsi (hhmm) The guy leaves the stage with a huge grin on his face, obviously really enjoyed it!

Next up its Flying Without Wings with Nicky singsthe first line (me ready to faint!), Bryan takes care of the second line with Shane finishing it off. Another change of words, this time Shane sings 'To know that I can say I love you, GLASGOW!!' getting louds of screams. The centre of the stage rises right up and begins turning around very slowly giving everyone a clear view of those irish boyz. As the stage slowly comes back down Shane tells us its the end of the show (booo) and they begin introducing the band and did ya know they have Santa Claus as their drummer ? lol According to Bryan anyway! lol and most importantly they say their thank yous to us! so sweet! hehe :p The stage goes down under the stage and we know it isn't the very end coz they need to come back don't they!! lol

After a little wait and a chanting of 'westlife, westlife, westlife.. etc!' the guys appear back on stage wearing silk white suits and the music for I Cry begins! sadly i have to go now so my mum can walk back to the car without the crowds but my aunt and her mate stayed behind so they could tell me what happened! BUT we did have to walk right past the front and it just happened that it was Kian and my mum nearly went into a trance as she gazed up at 'her' boy! lol Then Nicky came round as we were walking and it was my turn to not wanna leave! lol

Next song was When You Looking Like That and since i never saw this performance this is my aunts version of events! They go back above the audience as they are singing but what happens? Their things get stuck and they get caught dangling above the audience! Bryan starts do flips really fastly and Kian, seeing Bryan doing this, copies him. My aunt said it was enough to make you sick just watching them! Also Shane was holding on for dear life, even tho he was perfectly safe, until they came back down onto the stage and disappeared back into the stage...

... and that was the In The Round - World Of Our Own Tour of 2002!
