Chapter 20 - A work day for the guys, a fun day for the GIRLS!!!

The taxi pulled up to the front of the hotel and a slender man stepped out. He turned and paid the driver and as the car pulled away, he stared at his surroundings. The hotel was bathed in pure warm sunlight, casting a yellowish glow on the white walls.  He knew the boys were staying here and he had to admit, he was more than just a little jealous.  The only reason he was here was to make sure they got some work done. No fun for Davy boy this trip.  He entered the hotel and stepped up to the front desk. He asked for the guy's suite...still amazed that they were traveling without their security. What were they thinking? He had been against it, but they had insisted. No security. They could keep their heads down for this trip.  He then thought maybe he should call a few guys to show up just in case. Once the word got out that the Backstreet Boys were in town, never know what will happen.  He reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell phone. He knew a few guys that could help out. The guys would never know they were there.  It would be good to have the security just in case word leaked out that the guys were in town.  If it didn't...no harm done.  But if somehow people found out, the guys would be protected.  "The gentlemen you are looking for are in the Aloha suite, sir."  Davy turned and smiled at the clerk behind the desk. He was surprised at how discreet this hotel was. Most hotels would love to promote the fact that the Backstreet Boys were staying with them. But just in case, he dug into his pocket and pulled out a hundred dollar bill.  "You don't remember hearing those names, right?"  The clerk slipped the bill into his pocket.  "What names, sir?"
"Exactly, " Davy said, then he turned and headed for the elevators.
Davy stepped into the elevator and pressed the # button. As the car traveled up to the guys' floor he pulled out his cell phone again. He had to make sure everything was ready for the guys at the studio.  As the doors slid open, he glanced up and saw Kevin slip from a room that was not the Aloha suite.  Now he was not a prim little prick, but business was business and this was a working trip. Kevin, of all people, should know better.  Davy cleared his throat. Kevin looked up and groaned.  He was busted.  "Morning, Davy."  said Kevin trying to think of something to say.
“uh, Kevin your room is over here” Davy said in a questioning tone.  
"Yeah...your point?" Kevin asked as he passed Davy on his way back to the suite.  "Well, then...what are you doing in that suite?" Davy asked as he followed Kevin into the room.  "That...is none of your business, Davy," Kevin said quietly.  Davy had heard that tone of voice often enough to know that he couldn't push Kevin anymore.  His answers would have to come from one of the other guys.  As he looked around the room, he noticed something. Actually, he didn't notice any of the other guys.
"Kevin...where are the other guys?"  
"I'm sure they are around, Davy." Kevin replied.
Just then a door opened and Brian came stumbling out, a sheet wrapped around his waist.  "Hey...what's up?" Brian asked sleepily.
"Davy is early," Kevin said moodily.
"No...actually, I'm late." Davy said.
"What time is it?" asked Kevin.  Kevin glanced at the clock and sighed. Davy was right. He was late. It was nearly 9 am.
"So where are the others?" Davy asked.
"Don't know....I fell asleep reading...a...ah...book," Brian said blushing.
"They can't be far," Kevin said. "Brian get dressed and we can go hunt for them."
Brian returned to his room, a few minutes later he reappeared completely dressed.  "Okay...where do we look?" Davy asked.
"We look...you stay here," Kevin ordered.
He didn't need tight assed Davy seeing the other guys with the girls.  It was bad enough he had gotten caught coming from their room.  He could protect the girls at least.
“Come on, Bri...they must be up already," Kevin said, covering for the others.
"Yeah...probably down in the dining room stuffing their faces," Brian said, catching on to Kevin's little charade.  
But Davy was not fooled, but he knew better than to question Kevin when he was in a bad mood. Besides, Kevin would gather up the others without any problems, or at least he hoped.  "I'll stay here, in case they come back before you do," Davy said
"Good, you do that, "Kevin said as he headed out the door.
Brian followed him, knowing he was in a pissed off mood. Davy did that to Kevin every time. He had a knack of getting on his nerves. Probably because Davy thought he was the man...and Kevin didn't agree with that.
"Where are you going?" Brian asked.
"To Shawn's room. I'm quite sure we will find Howie, AJ and Nick there."
As the two made their way to the girls’ suite, Shawn was just hobbling her way towards the sofa in the living room where Sherry was on hand to help her out.  “Hey, Kevin what are you doing back so quickly?  Thought you guys had a meeting to go to?”  Shawn asked while she placed her leg up on the table.  “yeah we do, but we’re missing a few other guys.  Uh how’s your ankle this morning?” Kevin asked.   “It’s still sore but I will keep it on ice today”   “That’s good, just remember to take your meds like the doctor said”  Kevin said in his fatherly tone.  “yes sir” Shawn said with a salute.  “What happened to you Shawn?” Brian asked curiously.  “I will tell you later Brian.  We need to hurry and round up the other guys before Davy there decides to go wandering himself.” Kevin replied then turned back to Shawn and said, “I don’t know how long we’ll be in this meeting but we should be done by dinner time.  So, would you have dinner with me later?”  “I think I will be up for dinner later.” Shawn said with a giggle, “Besides, if I do recall you owe me a dinner from last night”    While Kevin was talking with Shawn, Brian moved over to Sherry and quickly said hello to her.  “Hey Sherry, how are you this morning?”   “I am great.  How about you, not sore from our little adventure yesterday, huh?”  Sherry asked.  “Nope, not sore just anxious to go again”  Brian answered then quickly remembered that he and Kevin were in a hurry to find the others.  “Well, maybe you and I could meet up later after our meeting, what do you say?”   “Sure, I’d love that.  I think the girls are gonna spend a day together…you know being girls”  Sherry said.  Brian laughed at her comment then said, “well, we better hurry and find the other guys.  We’ll be back later”.   Brian then moved his way over to the room he knew was Chelle’s.  He was quite certain he’d find Nick there.  When Brian knocked on the door, a loud thud was heard from the inside of the room.  “yeah, who’s there” Nick hollered out.  It was obvious he was half asleep.  “Frack, it’s me.  We’re late for our meeting man, and need to hurry” Brian said to the closed door.  “oh, damn…yeah I will be out in just a minute.  Nick quickly rolled Chelle over so he wouldn’t wake her up.  He glanced at her sleeping form and remembered what they shared the night before then smiled to himself.  He leaned over and kissed her whispering “hey babe, I’ve gotta go.  But I will see you later ok”  Chelle didn’t wake up, but only mumbled something that sounded like “ok”.  Nick laughed to himself, “Damn, she can sleep”  He quickly got dressed and headed to the living room to meet the other guys.  Meanwhile, Kevin headed towards Carmen’s room in search for AJ.  As he passed Tanya’s room, he noticed her door was open a little and noticed that the room was empty.  “well, Howie must already be awake.” Kevin thought.  “Great now I have to go looking for him.  Probably downstairs eating breakfast.  Yup that would be Howie, up before the rest of us… damn, he could’ve gotten us up”  He knocked on Carmen’s door and heard a loud groan on the other side of the door.  “great, definitely not in the mood for a grumpy AJ”.    “yeah, who’s there?” AJ barked from behind the door.  “AJ, it’s me Kev. You need to hurry man, we’re all late for the meeting.  Davy’s in our suite..and is NOT happy that we’re late”  Kevin said through the closed door.  “Shit”  AJ said as he quickly opened the door trying to gather the rest of his clothes.  “J man, you know you could be dressed before opening the door.  A naked AJ is not what I want to see first thing in the morning” Kevin said trying to shield his eyes.  AJ ignored Kevin’s comment and followed him to the living room.  Once Kevin knew AJ was behind him, he made his way back towards Brian who was joined by a sleepy blond whose hair was sticking up in ever direction.  As soon as AJ saw Nick, the jokes began…  “Oh, Nick… up late again were we? Hmmm.   You do know that others do need their sleep man”    “AJ, don’t’ start.  Sides, you have a room over there…”Nick said pointing towards the direction of their suite.
“You guys go on and keep Davy company while I go find Howie downstairs.  And don’t mention the girls just yet.  I really am NOT in the mood for his lecture and we don’t want him calling security for us.” Kevin instructed.  “Sure thing man.  Definitely don’t want to give him any reason to call the security guys to join us here.  He does that…there goes our vacation”  AJ said.
The guys said their goodbyes to Sherry, Shawn and Carmen who stumbled out of her bedroom in time to see them leave.  Once the door was shut, Carmen plopped onto the sofa next to Shawn and quickly noticed her foot wrapped up in a bandaged.  “what the hell happened to you, Shawn?”  Carmen questioned.
“well, you know me…can’t take me anywhere without attracting attention to myself” Shawn teased.  “Kevin and I went on a hiking tour and my ankle found a great hole in the ground to fall into”   Shawn knew that wasn’t exactly the truth but she didn’t really want to share the details of her day.  At least not yet.  Carmen sighed out loud then said in her best girly voice, “Can you believe how this vacation is turning out?  I mean damn… we’re spending it with the guys…. Who would’ve thought?”  “Well, Chelle had really put us all on the spot here telling her little “WHITE LIE” but I guess you do know they’re on to her right?”  Shawn asked.  “Oh yeah…and she is really in for it with them.”  Carmen laughed out loud.  “hey, that reminds me… I think we all owe Chelle a great wake up call don’t ya think since we’ve all been kept awake by her loud oh hell what do you call that.. a scream, moan...."  
Shawn quickly jumped off the couch on her good foot and said with an evil grin, “oh yeah that is a great idea…I think she is over due for a rude awakening”.  The girls got together and charged their way into Chelle’s room.  Carmen quickly jumping up on the bed and screamed, “oh, Nicky don’t stop…ooh ahhhh”  With that Chelle was definitely awake.  She picked up her pillow and smacked Carmen which only made Carmen laugh even louder.  Shawn glanced around the room and noticed a tray of food left over from the night before along with the champagne bottle.  “oh, Chelle looks like you really wined and dined it last night”    “and what do we have here?” Carmen said picking up a pair of garters that were tossed on the side of the bed.  “Oh dear god, do you guys have anything else to do besides be here in my bed?” Chelle whined wrapping herself up with her sheet from her bed.  The other three looked at each other and said in unison…  “NO” and then broke out into a fit of giggles.    “Correction.  We are not in your bed, that was Nicky’s department earlier…we are ON your bed”  Carmen snickered.
“Shawn's even injured and she's in here." Sherry said with a laugh.
 Chelle quickly looked at Shawn’s ankle wrapped up in the bandage, “what?  What happened to you Ms. Clumsy”  She hoped that would get the subject of her for the moment then said, "I don't think there's been a year that you haven't hurt yourself one way or another since we've known you."   
"I tripped during my hike with Kevin yesterday" Shawn quickly answered.  “so, do you have to wear that thing long” Chelle questioned.  “no, just till the swelling is down.  The bandage helps me keep the pressure off of the ankle”.  Shawn answered.  “well, I am sure Kevin won’t mind playing doctor with you” Chelle teased.  “ok, do you guys mind if I um, get dressed here?” Chelle asked the other girls.  “Fine, hurry up and get dressed so we can all get something to eat downstairs together”  Shawn suggested.  With that, the girls left and went to their own rooms to get dressed.

Kevin looked around the restaurant searching for Howie but didn’t see him anywhere.  “Great, the one who’s always on time for everything is nowhere to be found.  Shit.  Where the hell is he?”  He then walked out of the restaurant, and towards the pool area that was his second guess as to where Howie was.  When he still saw no Howie, he again swore under his breath.  “Dammit Howie, you would disappear now..when the jackass is upstairs waiting for us.  Lord only knows what he’s thinking right now”.

At the same time Nick, AJ and Brian barged through the front door of their suite.  They immediately were greeted by Davy who was pacing back and forth the room.  “Finally, there you guys are” Davy said but then stopped when he noticed two of the guys missing, “wait a sec… now where’s Kevin and Howie.  Guys we don’t have all day now.  We were suppose to be in the studio 20 minutes ago.”   “Howie is downstairs eating and Kevin went to go get him.”  Brian explained.  Davy then took a look over at Nick and noticed he was wearing dressy clothes which was definitely the hint that he had spent the night somewhere else.  Just like Kevin did.   “so, uh Nick.. Did you suddenly get the urge to dress up for our meeting today?”  Davy questioned.  “yeah, actually I did” Nick answered sarcastically, “but now I remembered it was only you here so I am gonna change real quickly”.  And off he went to his room to quickly change his clothes.  Davy then looked back at Brian and asked, “what the hell is going on here guys? Did you guys forget this is suppose to be a work trip?”  AJ finally chimed in “no we didn’t forget…. Like you’d ever let us forget….  But did you forget that we just came off tour?  We needed a break ourselves…so what if we enjoyed a few days in the sun without someone breathing down our necks.  This place is incredible man.  And the women….uh!…” AJ quickly remembered he wasn’t suppose to mention the women just yet..so he did his best to retract his last statement, “and the food man, is awesome.”    “I hope you guys have been keeping to yourselves like you promised.  Cuz if you remember you didn’t bring any security with you..and if the word got out that you guys are here…there’s no telling what will happen”  Davy lectured.  AJ and Brian both rolled there eyes knowing that Davy was now just getting started.  AJ quickly found his way out, “well, I better work on my disguise then… be right back” AJ scampered off to his room to also change his clothes leaving Brian alone with Davy.  Brian groaned to himself.  He felt like the lamb left to the slaughter. Where the hell was Kevin?  Davy then began to go over the details with Brian, the lone wolf, the events of the day.  Brian sighed to himself, I am gonna kill Kevin later as he pretended to listen to Davy’s ranting.

Howie began to stretch his sleepy body not realizing where he was.  He began opening his eyes, he found it very difficult to see anything since it was very bright out.  As he sat up, he realized that he fell asleep with Tanya on the beach.  He reached a gentle hand to her shoulder and shook her lightly.  “Tanya....hey sweetheart? Wake up…”    "hmmm, what. where are we?" Tanya replied in a scratchy voice.  “Looks like we fell asleep out here, but I gotta hurry back cuz I am late for my meeting" Howie answered.  He reached down, slipped his hand into hers and pulled her to her feet.  "Do we have time for breakfast?" she asked.  "Unfortunately, no.  I'm sorry, but maybe we can meet up for dinner later." Howie suggested.  They quickly gathered up their things and started walking back to their hotel.  Just as they reached the pool, Howie spotted Kevin. He was looking around every tree and under every bush. Howie started laughing.  "You lose something, Kevin?"  "Yeah...you. Where the hell have you been?"  Kevin asked.  "well, definitely not under that little bush" Howie answered with a laugh.  "Funny, Mr. I am always on time. I've looked everywhere else....it was the only place I didn't look. Davy is upstairs waiting and fuming as we speak" Kevin said out of breath.  
Oh damn" Howie blurted out.
"yeah, damn is right. He caught me coming out of the girls' suite and already started questioning me." Kevin replied.
"Shit....bet that got under your skin."  Howie said shaking his head.
"Let's not go there," Kevin said.  "we better hurry back up there now. There's no telling what he's asking the other guys"
 Howie said as he lead Tanya along with him "And AJ can't keep his trap shut for very long..."   
"And Nick can?"  Kevin said back.
  With that thought in mind, the guys started to run.  Tanya just laughed to herself. She was finally seeing the Backstreet Boys in action.
