Update: The Aviator is still in pre-production and won't begin filming until July 2003. Kate Beckinsale has been cast as Ava Gardner and Gwen Stefani (No Doubt) has been cast as Jean Harlow. Cate Blanchett has been cast as Katharine Hepburn. Also, Jude Law has signed on to play Errol Flynn.
The Aviator will be directed by Martin Scorsese. Leo will play Howard Hughes, a former Hollywood director and producer who owned Hughes Aircraft Co. in the early 1930s. His films included "Hell's Angels" and "The Outlaw". Hughes also had romances with Hollywood actresses, Ava Gardner and Katharine Hepburn.
Update: Luhrmann's version of Alexander will come out in theaters after the Oliver Stone/Colin Farrell version. Also, filming has been moved from Morocco to Australia due to the current instability in that region.
Alexander the Great will be directed by Baz Luhrmann. Leo will play Alexander and Nicole Kidman will play his mother, Olympia. Alexander was a Macedonian ruler who conquered the Persian Empire. (The invasion began in 334 B.C.)
The Good Shepherd will be directed by Robert DeNiro and produced by Francis Ford Coppola. (DeNiro will also star in the movie) Leo plays James Wilson, one of the founding officers of the CIA.
