Star
on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

I've been a fan of Ms. Jackson's since the original run of "The Rookies". However, I confess that the two characters that affected me the most were Sabrina Duncan of "Charlie's Angels" and Amanda King of "Scarecrow and Mrs. King".
In the mid-70's women were expected to be teachers, secretaries, nurses or housewives. Don't get me wrong. There's absolutely nothing wrong with any of those professions. (I'm a secretary.) "Charlie's Angels" showed that women had other choices as well. We could be doctors, fighter pilots, football players, or do pretty much anything a man could do. Sabrina Duncan showed that women could be beautiful AND smart. She was a role model for me and hundreds of teen-agers.
Amanda King showed that it was okay to be a mom as well as have a job that you enjoyed and was challenging. She had pride in a job well done, a love of her family and a love of her country -- things that were and still are rarely shown on television.
Kate herself is a role model to many people for different reasons: she's a breast cancer survivor. She's not afraid to speak her mind or take a stand. She takes pride in her craft and does the best job possible in whatever television show or movie she's in.
Imagine my surprise to discover that after being an inspiration to people over all these years that she doesn’t have a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Deciding to rectify this obvious oversight I called the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce some time in August 2001 to get information about just how one goes about "getting a star". (I also wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to bite off more than I could chew.) They were kind enough to send me a Brochure with the requirements…one of which is $25,000.
My next step was to contact Ms. Jackson’s publicist to ask if there would be any objections to attempting this venture. I also wanted to make sure that she'd be interested in this undertaking and also that no one else was working on this. After all, why reinvent the wheel? Her publicist, who, btw, is a VERY nice man, got back to me, said that Ms. Jackson would definitely be interested and that I could proceed with her approval.

Kate Jackson Fan Club (bulletin board). I just found this board a few days ago. It's a great place for Kate fans to meet and say hi.
Kate Jackson: Beauty and Brains. I love this site. It says what I've known all along...there's nothing wrong with a woman being beautiful AND smart. There's information about all six of the television series "Charlie's Angels". There are also terriffic pictures and C's A fanfic posted (including one or two by yours truly.)
The
Wild Colt Homepage. This is my friend
Kim's site. She's got "Charlie's Angels" WAVs, pictures and a ton
of links.

about all things related to the original series.

The Rookies (bulletin board). For fans of the television series "The Rookies". There's also some original fan fiction posted from time to time, as well as trivia questions, questions/comments about episodes, what actors are doing now, etc.
Christos' Rookies Webpage. This is one of the most comprehensive sites I've ever seen. He does a wonderful job with all of his pages and this is no exception. He's got some unique pictures, screen captures and original fanfiction. (He puts my site to shame, quite frankly.) Check it out and you definitely won't be disappointed.
Ellen's Sam Melville Tribute. A tribute to Sam Melville.

"Scarecrow and Mrs. King" links:
Robin's Fanfic. This is a great site for anyone who likes their fanfic in character and in canon.
Relativity. Another awesome site. For those of you unfamiliar with the zine it has Lee Stetson cousins with Murphy Michaels (of "Remington Steele"), Andy Travis (of "WKRP") and Skip Carmichael (of "Salvage One") A new issue comes out every Memorial Day and I'm proud to say that I have every single issue. There are SMK stories, RS stories, and mixed media. There are also some other familiar characters that pop up from time. It's really a fantastic zine and I'm so glad that they're posting all of their past stories on the web.
"Scarecrow
and Mrs. King" Annual Get Together. Okay,
this is my page. :) I've been doing these get togethers for
a few years and they're a lot of fun. We have some neat handouts,
hang out, get to know each other and see a little bit of Arlington, Virginia
and Washington, DC. I've always found it fascinating that there are
so many of us from all around the world that are different ages and are
in different professions who have the same interest. Feel free to
IM or email me if you want any more info or have any questions.
