Love Soup

Lets get out a nice big pot and set it on the stove
Turn the heat on so that it will warm so that we can show
How to make the best soup in the whole wide world
Filled with so many feelings all who have some
Will be overwhelmed with its wonderful taste

Now we will put in a bunch of patience and caring
Then there is always a cup or two of sharing
Along with a handful of smiles and twinkling eyes
And just a dash of sugar to sweeten the sighs
A little pinch of tenderness to strengthen the ties

Oh donA?t forget the base which is love
It must be added with all your heart
Or the soup will turn out very tart
That is the most important ingredient
We need a lot of that to share
To show all everyone how much we care

Stir in very carefully some gentleness
And a whole bag filled with caresses
Must not forget all the kisses and hugs
They are stored in those big colored jugs
Just give them a few tugs

Add a few handfuls of sweetness
A tablespoon full of longing
Then add a half cup of belonging
A quarter cup of sweetness
Put a small smile in and give it a twist

Now add understanding and acceptance
For who we all really ae
Not some imagine that is not true
Just the real person which is you

This is an old family recipe
Handed down from one generation
To another
From mother to daughter
