Do we dare to say that we are all made by one supreme being

And that we should all love, cherish and help each other

No matter how high the cost may seem

Would it be permissable for all of us to have this healthy dream

To be honest, straightforward and have no alternate scheme



Do we dare to teach all of our children that there is enough

Of everything on this earth for all of us to share

If we don’t rape the earth of all its wonderous beauty

And use its natural resources with extreme care

Replacing all that we can back to the land



Do we dare to join all nations into one unit and work together

Trying to unite and make living for all so much better

Is it possible to reach out our hands to the oppressed and poor

Can we open our hearts and let them all come in the door

Will we ever be able to welcome everyone and not think it a chore



Do we dare to speak up and stand up for all that want our help

And be able to let alone those that don’t want us in their land

To give them our trust and faith in them to stand

Let them decide for themselves what is right and what is wrong

Wouldn’t it be possible to stay away and not interfere where we don’t belong

Maybe by joining together as one we can stop all this insanity

Lets get out a nice big pot and set it on the stove
Turn the heat on so that it will warm so that we can show
How to make the best soup in the whole wide world
Filled with so many feelings all who have some
Will be overwhelmed with its wonderful taste

Now we will put in a bunch of patience and caring
Then there is always a cup or two of sharing
Along with a handful of smiles and twinkling eyes
And just a dash of sugar to sweeten the sighs
A little pinch of tenderness to strengthen the ties

Oh donÂ’t forget the base which is love
It must be added with all your heart
Or the soup will turn out very tart
That is the most important ingredient
We need a lot of that to share
To show all everyone how much we care

Stir in very carefully some gentleness
And a whole bag filled with caresses
Must not forget all the kisses and hugs
They are stored in those big colored jugs
Just give them a few tugs

Add a few handfuls of sweetness
A tablespoon full of longing
Then add a half cup of belonging
A quarter cup of sweetness
Put a small smile in and give it a twist

Now add understanding and acceptance
For who we all really ae
Not some imagine that is not true
Just the real person which is you

Throughout my life
I have been there day or night
Every child that needed a friend
Someone to be there for them
Took them in to my home and heart

Never letting them come to harm

They are meant to sparkle and shine

He wants us to help lift them up

So many children call me mom
It is simply because I was there for them

Recently I received the greatest honor
I have ever gotten in my life
The kids got together and presented me

I can feel the deep pain
As I try to understand what there is to gain
From continuing this charade

Walking on the bridge with the rain pelting me
Jacket pulled up to my face I can hardly see

There is no one in sight
To witness my plight
Sadness envelopes my soul
As I climb up to the railing
I can see people like ants below
No one cares whether I live or die
Numbness has taken over rational thought
If no one cares then why should I

Arms outstretched , eyes closed tight
Leaning forward for my flight

Of all my mind numbing anxiety
Soaring out I can hear the water swirling below
Into its welcoming arms I will go
The cold water swallows me
Deeper and deeper down I sink

MY LITTLE GIRL

“Don’t turn off the lights, my little girl said
“I am so afraid of the dark in this big bed”
“There are goblins and monsters that will get me”
“If you don’t leave the light on to protect me.”

“They don’t like the light on because they know that we can see”
“If they come out from under the bed to get me”
So I said, “Hush my child, I won’t let any one harm you”
“I will leave the light on to arm you”

I sat by the bed and held my sweet child in my arms
And hummed her a few bars from her favorite songs
Cuddled her close and when her little eyes began to droop
I grabbed her teddy bear and her doll I scooped

I laid her down in her bed and crawled in beside her
Until she was sleeping, I wouldn’t leave, I would be there

Her breathing slowed down and her body relaxed
Her little body was no longer taxed
All her childish fears were gone for the night
All because mom let her keep on her light
