"Oh" Ashley said in an equelly bored tone. As if it was the kind of thing that happened every day.

"Come on Mary-Kate!" Marc-Andre called from where he was still in the water. "You gonna come in or not?"

"Yeah, I'm coming." I said back and I got up.

I started to feel dizzy again and I grabbed Ashley before I fell. Everything was spinning so fast and then my head started to hurt.

"Brett!" Ashley yelled.

I heard Ashley call my name and I saw she was beside Mary-Kate.

"Uh oh." I said. "I got to go." I handed what was left of the cracker and handed it to the chipmunk. "Here, feed your family." It took the cracker and ran off.

I ran to where Mary-Kate and Ashley were.

"I'm telling you I am fine! I just got up too fast." Mary-Kate said. "Everyone calm down!"

I knelt down beside Mary-Kate. I took her hand in mine. "Your fingers are really cold" I said

"So what?" She said pulling her hand away from me.

I glanced at Ashley she looked just as concerned as I felt.

"I think we should go to the hospital" I said extending a hand to Mary-Kate.

"No way!" She said walking away from me.

"Mary-Kate!" I called walking after her.

"Leave me alone Brett!"

I felt sorry for Brett. He tried so hard to help Mary-Kate but she always pushed him away. He's worried sick and it looks like she doesn't care.

"I'll go talk to her." I said to Brett.

He nodded and sat down on the sand looking discouraged.

"Mary-Kate! Wait!" I called after my sister.

She walked into the forrest a bit then sat under a tree waiting for me.

"I'm fine" She insisted close to tears.

I sat down next to her "You're really worried aren't you?"

She nodded and sniffed a little "I don't know what's wrong with me and it's scaring me!"

I Put my arms around her "It'll be ok" I said "It's probably nothing"

She pulled back "I don't wanna go to the hospital though. What if it's something really bad?"

"Then it would get worse if we didn't go"

"Running away from your problems won't fix it, but make it worse." I continued. "You know that."

She nodded, and sniffled again. "I'm so scared." She began to cry on my shoulder. I hugged her tightly and told her everything was going to be fine. After a little while, we walked back to join the boys and explained what happened.

Brett gave Mary-Kate a big hug and a kiss on her forehead. Marc-Andre hugged me and kept his arm around me.

We went down to the hospital and Mary-Kate went into the examination room.

"Oh man! Why didn't they let me go in with them" I said nervously pacing around the room "This is torture"

"Chill man" Marc-Andre said trying to calm me down

"I can't 'chill'" I said angrily "What if she's really sick?"

"Then you having a heart attack won't help anything!"

I opened my mouth to answer just as the doctor appeared.

The doctor approached us.

"My name is Doctor Jessica." She introduced herself.

"How is she doc? Is she going to be ok?" Ashley and I both asked.

"We don't know yet. We've run some tests and we'll get the results in a couple of hours. I'd like to keep Mary-Kate here until we know for sure what's going on." Doctor Jessica said.

We all nodded.

"Are you her sister?" Doctor Jessica asked Ashley. "I'd like to ask you a couple of questions."

"Oook" Ashley said in a shaky voice.

"Does she have any allergies?"

"Not that I can think of" Ashley said looking worried. Marc-Andre took her hand in his and it seemed to help a bit.

"Ok" The doctor said writing something on her clipboard.

"Has anything stressful happened in the last couple of days?"

"Quite a few things. My, uh, boyfriend died. They were friends. And her ex-boyfriend kidnapped her"

The doctor raised an eyebrow "I see."

"She hit her head on a rock when he kidnapped her" I interrupted.

"Ok" the doctor wrote that down on the clipboard. "Thanks you've been a big help" She said before walking away.

"Wait!" I called after her.

"Yes?" She said as she turned around.

"When can we see her?" I asked.

She looked at her clipboard and said. "In a hour or so."

"Thank you." I said as she walked away.

I felt alone and scared.

"Excuse me" I called to one of the nurses.

"Yes?" She said walking over and smiling.

"Would I be able to talk to my friends?" I asked.

"In an hour or so" she responded.

I sighed "Thanks" I said.
