"Congratualtions, I didn't know you were engaged." I said. I considered for a moment and then added "That is a good thing, isn't it?"

She looked at me for a second with an expression saying 'are you that clueless?'. "It's not by choice."

I stared at her in shock "An arranged marriage? What are we living in, the dark ages?"

"I know." She said grumbling.

"There's got to be something you can do." I said.

She shook her head "He and My Brother are best friends, and apperently he'd always liked me, so my brother arranged the marriage. He keeps insisting he's helping me, that Jasons a great guy and will look after me. Whatever" She muttered.

I got up from my cot, with a little struggle, and headed outside. Samantha saw me and stood between myself and the door. She put her hands up to stop me.

"Where do you think you're going?" She asked.

"Tell your brother that he's making a wrong call." I said.

She snorted in an attempt not to laugh "Like he's gonna listen to you!"

I sighed, "Well you're not doing anything"

She looked angry "I've begged, I've screamed, I've cried, I even ran away, but they found me. Believe me I have done something!"

"Then, you won't mind my trying." I said, moving to walk around her.

She moved to block me again "He'll just get mad" She said firmly.

"But..." I said.

"No buts!" She said firmly. "Now sit down young man." she said with hands on her hips.

I opened my mouth to say something, but didn't risk it.

...Ashley...

"Don't you think we should tell the kids underground what's going on?" I asked, as we searched for Sean "After all, they must be worried, and they do have a right to know"

"Good point" Damien said nodding.

Just then we heard voices, and by instinct ducked.

"I thought I heard something." One said.

"It's probably just a small animal." The other said. "Come on."

They both passed and we were free to move around again. Who were they?

We all looked at each other in shock.

"Well this puts a whole new prospective on things" Damien finally managed to say.

"I didn't think anyone survived the impact." Mary-Kate said.

"Guess we were wrong." Amy said, standing beside Damien.

"I hope their friendly." Mary-Kate added, looking a little scared.

Danny went over to her. "I'm sure they are." He smiled.

...Sean...

I'd spent the last half hour mulling over what I was going to do. I needed to get out of here. But I felt horrible about Samantha and wanted to help her.

My pondering was interupted when Samantha suddenly ran into the tent. "We've got to get you out of here!" She said rushing over to me.

"No duh" I said getting up "What's going on?"

"My Brother is to..." She paused "have you killed" she whispered.

"Yup, definately need to get out of here." I said, sitting up with a bit of a struggle. I really hated having a wound in my back limiting my movements.

"Come on." She said, helping me. "I think I know a way to get you out of here."

I put my arm around her shoulder and we both left her little tent.

"Round this way" She said as soon as we were outside. We started walking around the side of the tent. Thankfully no one had seen us yet.

Spoke to soon.

We'd got halfway round the tent when Shane spotted us "He's escaping!" He hollered it so loud it echoed throughout the valley.

...Mary-Kate...

"Did you hear that?" I asked looking around me.

"Yeah" Danny stopped walking and ushered me over to a tree, the others hid too. "It came from up ahead" he said.

We waited a few minutes to see if we could hear anything else. We were about to give up and keep moving when we could faintly hear shouting again. Sounded like a big pack of people running after someone.

"He's over here!" "I lost him!" "Where'd he go?!" Were among the things we heard.

"Sounds like someone's on the run from these people." Damien said.

"But who?" Amy asked.

"I think I know." I said.

"Come on!" I said grabbing Danny's hand and pulling him in the direction of the shouts

"Um.. Mary-Kate?" he called "Is this such a good idea?"

"Ask me that when it's over." I said. "Just come on!"

The others joined as we headed towards the shouts. They were getting closer and closer... we could hear someone getting very close to us and we could soon hear them talk.

"I can't go any farther." What sounded like a guy said.

"I know that voice!" I said.

"It hurts too much." He continued.

"That's Brett!" Ashley said.

"Come on Brett, don't give up on me now." A girl said. "We need to keep moving."

I stood rooted to the spot trying to work out what was going on, when suddenly Sean appeared in front of me, didn't notice me and ran straight into me.

"Ow!" I said as we both fell over.
