NEWS!

November 3, 2002
What a weekend!! Congratulations go to out to the amazing Emanuel Sandhu on capturing a silver medal at the MasterCard Skate Canada in Quebec City. He was the leader after Thursday's short program but had a few glitches in the freeskate. However, he managed two triple axels (one in combination with a triple toe) as well as a triple lutz, a triple sal, and a triple flip-triple toe combo. The program was filled with incredible spins and amazing footwork. Emanuel's next scheduled competition is the Canadian Championships in Saskatoon in January.

Sorry I haven't updated in a few months. Unfortunatly Emanuel was unable to attend the World. Word is that he's doing well. He has two Grand Prix events, Skate America in Spokane (October 24-27) and Skate Canada in Quebec City (October 31-November 3).

As you all know Emanuel had to withdraw from the Olympics. He underwent surgery on Thursday and might still go to the World Championships in Nagano in March. Congratulations to Alexei Yagudin, Evgeny Plushenko and Timothy Goebel on their medal finishes at the Olympics!!

R Emanuel SANDHU CAN

January 21, 2002
Four Continents take place this week in Korea. Men's Short Programs are on Thursday January 24 and the Men's Long Programs are on Saturday January 26. The exhibitions are on Sunday. Results will be posted as soon as they become available

January 18, 2002
Emanuel will be competing at Four Continents in Korea (January 22-27), the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City (February 6-24) and the World Championships in Nagano, Japan (March 18-24). Watch CTV tomorrow for the Parade of Champions from the BMO Canadians. Rumour is that Emanuel performed "Purple Rain"!!

January 12, 2002
Emanuel finished second overall after a long program where he fought for every jump. Emanuel popped his quad toe to a double then came right back with a triple axel-triple toe combination. He later did a triple flip than doubled a planned triple saw than went right into another triple sal but he flipped out at the end. He fought back with a second triple axel, followed by a triple lutz. The troubles continued on the triple loop attempt first he single than tried again but only did a double. Then he did an amazing footwork sequence followed by a triple loop and a triple toe. He finished the program with his signature spin. The program was well performed considering that Emanuel wasn't feeling well. CONGRATULATIONS EMANUEL!!!! GOOD LUCK IN SALT LAKE CITY!!!

Emanuel WON the short program and now sits second overall, behind Elvis. Emanuel opened the short with his combo, quad toe-double toe. He had to do a three turn between the quad and the double but he stayed on one foot. He came back with a gorgeous triple axel and an awesome triple lutz. His spins were fast and the footwork impecable. The long program on Saturday will determing the Canadian Champion.
