Beware of phony online job scams
A warning about phony companies claiming to have great work-at-home jobs for you.  “Lucrative” jobs doing part-time survey work and other odd jobs for an upfront fee  are scams from people who will simply take your money and run. Wall Street Journal focused on how people are being conned out of huge sums of money by becoming a “financial intermediary.” One woman saw an ad on Monster.com from a German company that was looking for someone in the U.S. who could process payments for them, working from home and would earn lots of money. Checking out the company with the Better Business Bureau and finding that everything looked above board,  she faxed a contract to the company and got a check within a week for just under $10,000. She deposited the check in her account and then wired a payment back to them minus her “fee” for the job. A few days later, she found out the check was a fake and she was out $10,000. Monster.com  realized the company was a fake and has removed the ad. You need to be your own watchdog on these con games. They are all over the online job boards. The creeps seek you out on these site. They see your post and contact you with information about a great job then get all of your information under the guise of hiring you... and they clean you out.

It's hip to be a second-hander!
If you love  bargains and are  a connoisseur of collectibles on the show  “Junkin” (Turner South’s Web site this new show) you travel with the hosts to flea markets, yard sales and other secondhand venues to find the best bargains out there. All of a sudden it’s hip to be thrifty and to buying other people’s mistakes. Clark has had tons of people ask if he’s joking when he talks about the second-hand clothes he wears and the repossessed furniture he buys. If we can get beyond the idea that we have to have the latest and greatest of everything, we will get control of our wallets instead of it having control of you.

College towns are great places to shop for this stuff when a semester is over as students will practically give clothes and furniture away.

Some sell the coupons from the Sunday paper on eBay...or will sign up for free on the airlines websites so they can earn miles...and then sell the miles on eBay. (They earn their miles by getting a credit card or buying Kelloggs cereal...as they see it,  if they are going to charge something or eat anyway why not make it a money making deal.)

under ASSISTANCE see Vonage Phone Company for ways to make money getting others to sign up.
