Geoffrey Rush was born on July 6, 1951 in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. He attended the Queensland college in Australia where he earned his arts degree, and was also room mates with Mel Gibson. Along with an impressive theatre career, he won an Oscar for his portrayal of  the Pianist David Helfgott in the film, "Shine." Geoffrey has also dazzled us with such performances as Inspector Javert in "Les Miserables," Marquis De Sade in "Quills,"and Captain Barbossa in "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl." Geoffrey is married to Jane Menelaus, and has two children, Angelica and James.
