Episode Description

Date of airing: January 2, 2000
This year's primer episode unfolded with Anne listening to her sister's voice tape. The reason for Shiela's suicide was finally revealed. It has nothing to do with James but was in fact due to her parent's unusual high expectations and parental pressure, for her to excel at everything.
Anne, holding the original tape, confronted Jackie about falsely dubbing her sister's voice as to make it sound that James was the reason for her suicide, but the latter denied saying, "I don't know what you're talking about." Hearing the loud and angry voices, Anne's parents arived at the scene demanding to know what's going on. An enraged Anne turned on her parents telling them that she now knows the real reason why her sister ended her life. The scene ended with Anne making her mother choose between her and Jackie.
Jackie, affected by Anne's angry outburst, went to her room and started to pack her things but Anne's mom intervened. Convinced by the staunch support, the scheming and manipulative villain stayed.
We then see Perry sitting in his bed, smoking contemplatively inside the jailbox. A second later, we see a policeman approaching and telling him that he has a visitor. Upon seeing that his visitor was Anne, his whole face lit up, an indicative sign of how much this visit meant a lot to him. Perry then stood up and gingerly approached the steel bars to greet Anne. The latter (Anne) comfortingly told him not to worry and that she'll try to talk to George (George wanted Perry behind bars for hurting Pia). But he resignedly answered, "After all the things that has happened, I don't expect that they'll forgive me."
"You were just influenced by the lies Jackie told you." Anne strongly dissuaded.
"I was such a stupid fool to believe her!" Perry self-beratingly said. Then he softly added,"I know that you could never love me the way you love James."
Anne clearly uncomfortable and not knowing what else to say told him,"You're a friend Perry."
"Friend?"Perry plaintively said then wistfully added,"Maybe if we were given a longer time to be with each other, you could have learned to love me, right?"
Anne consolingly reassured him," I owe you the truth. Whatever happens, I could never forget that."
Fearing the answer but knowing he must find out nonetheless, he asked, "You'll go back to him?"
Anne brokenly replied, "He deserves to know the truth."
Perry clearly pained by the answer, turned sidewards and sighed tiredly (at this point, I believe he has finally conceded that Anne wasn't for him.)Anne then anxiously called out to him. And not wanting to worry Anne further, he reassured her that he's okay, he'll be okay.
"I will do everything I can to free you from this place."Anne firmly added.
Perry smiling waveringly, said,"Thanks." Anne touching his hand which was gripping the steel bars smiled and thanked him too.
It seems that this episode was Anne's day of visiting people co'z we see her next visiting George in her house. This visit however, did not go well.
The other girl was already crying when she (Anne) arrived. George was apparently guilt-stricken by her part on what happened to Pia and was smarting from her Dad's severe reprimand.
Anne entered the house and carefully seated herself then asked concernedly how Pia and her baby was faring. But instead of answering, the other girl (George) lashed out angrily at her(Anne), "It's your fault why Pia and her baby are now fighting for their lives. If only you'd listened to us (meaning the barkada) when we told you to stay away from Perry cause he's a bad person, none of these would have happened!" After saying her piece, she (George)then stormed out of the room.
With lips quivering and tears welling her eyes, Anne who was shaken by the accusatory words and stinging diatribe, was unable to say anything but whisper pleadingly, "George."
