Meenakshi is another important form of shakthi .She was born as a princess in Pandya kingdom.In additon to her two breasts she had an extra one which was like male.She was courageous and highly talented.She fought with so many kings and emperors and defeated them.She conquered the entire bhoologham.Then, she went to fight with Parashiva.On seeing Shiva her third one disappeared and she became a perfect girl with all feminine characters.She decided to marry shiva and their wedlock was arranged at Madurai.Unfortunately,Parvathi's brother Mahavishnu was not able to be present on the occasion.So Shiva himself took the form of Vishnu and did the formalities(kanyadhaanam).
