Full name: Matthew Murphy Karges

Nicknames: Murf, Murfdog, Murphy...

Birthdate: June 20th, 1967

Hair Color: Currently...blonde again (but it has been many colors such as red, black, pink, brown..)

Height: 6’ 0”

Weight: 175 lbs.

Status: CLAIMED

Pets: A golden retriever named Bowie and another dog named Kayla

Murf purchased a juicer because Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters had one and Murf thought that it was the coolest thing.

Murf used to date Stan’s sister back in the day, but she is married now.

Murf resides in California.

Murf plays on mostly Ernie Ball Musicman basses (I'm not sure as to how heavy of a gauge he uses for his strings...)

Murf grew up listening to mostly hardcore-punk bands and his parent’s cassette and record collections.

Murphy’s first concert was of the band, Chicago.

Murf likes to listen to Coldplay, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Damned, Dead Kennedys, Jane's Addiction, Nirvana, TSOL…

Murf used to have a job delivering pizzas and he was also a “failed” security guard (your guess is as good as mine).

Murf first learned to surf (and smoke) when he was 12.

Murf wanted to learn how to play bass because he liked the way that the bass looked in pictures.

Some of Murf’s favorite books include: “Watchers” by Dean Koontz, “The Pearl” by John Steinbeck, and “To Build a Fire” by Jack London.

Murf really likes these movies: Braveheart, Rocky, Grease, The Usual Suspects, Goodfellas, and The Outsiders.

Murf is a huge fan of the Anaheim Angels (and why not, they are only the best baseball team!) and the hockey team, The Mighty Ducks.

When Murf was younger, he made up an imaginary band called "Barf" (he was just as imaginative back then as he is today!)

When Murf isn’t jamming, he likes to go skateboarding, surfing, golfing, and fishing.

You could probably say that Murphy’s favorite band of all time is T.S.O.L. (by the way, T.S.O.L. stands for True Sounds Of Liberty).

Murf is really close to his Grandma and Grandpa Karges. His Grandpa even gave him golfing lessons! Now that Murf knows how to play, it is one of his favorite things to do!

Murf used to be in The Special Goodness with Pat Wilson (of Weezer), but I believe that Murf is currently withdrawn from that side project.
