On June 26, 2000 John performed in a theatre presentation of Neil Simon's "The Playwright's The Thing II." It was hosted by TIME to benefit BC/EFA (Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids) in the Neil Simon Theatre. Excerpts were taken from many of Neil Simon's broadway plays and performed live in front of an audience by talents such as Calista Flockhart, Marsha Mason, Bebe Neuwirth, Bronson Pinchot, John Ritter, and many others.
"At the end of the evening, Neil Simon took the stage and issued a series of one-liners that constituted a speech in which he expressed his gratitude for the actors, the director and the cast. The playwright noted that the evening was for such a worthy and important cause, and he really appreciated the attempts by various actors to take on the various excerpts. He quipped that he was so very happy to be back on Broadway (Simon’s last Broadway outing was the 1997 Proposals) and that, to celebrate the occasion, he may write a musical based on that night’s speech."

John is also a contributor along with other famous celebrities to B.A.D. - Baseballers Against Drugs - which hosts anti-drug and anti-gang clinics held after school where children who participate can get free gifts (B.A.D. t-shirts, caps, etc.) and get signed autographs from the Players.

In May of 1996, John participated in the "Denim, Doodles and Dinner" fund raiser for the San Angelo AIDS Foundation.

What is RADD? RADD stands for "Recording Artists, Actors and Athletes Against Drunk Driving" and was started in 1986 as a campaign to overcome the shocking statistic of drunk driving being the #1 killer of young adults.In January of 1998, John Larroquette and Miami Dolphins Quarterback Dan Marino were on hand at Sea World of California at San Diego to promote responsible drinking and use designated drivers.
