Kim Novak
Legendary screen goddess Kim Novak has lost her home in Eagle Point,
Ore., to a fire that is being blamed on a tree falling onto a power line.
The actress also lost some of her prized possessions, including her
shooting scripts from such classic films as "Vertigo" and "Picnic." The
67-year-old star of
The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders
"Moll Flanders," "Of Human Bondage" and "Bell, Book and
Candle" also lost the computer on which she says she had been writing her
memoirs -- but she says she thinks maybe the fire is a sign that she should
not finish the book.
Novak says her animals -- dogs, horses, llamas and an orphaned gaggle of
Canada geese that she had been caring for -- were not injured in the fire.
Local fire officials suspect the fire was a result of a cottonwood tree
falling across a power line.
