JONATHAN ARKIN is an actor, director, writer, choreographer and teacher who divides his time between New York and California. He is a graduate of both Columbia University and the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, where he majored in Cinema and Journalism/News Media and Society and was the founding president of the resurrected Theta Chi Fraternity's Beta Tau Chapter at USC, leading the OX men to new philanthropic heights in the community. Jonathan became an award-winning journalist while completing his Phi Theta Kappa studies at Santa Monica College and read Shakespeare and British Politics and Art for a semester at the University of Cambridge. Recently finishing his master's degree studies (in Specialized Journalism) at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, he wrote for the ASC website and also worked extensively in South Central Los Angeles public schools. (This work inspired his thesis, which examined the residual effects of cuts to arts funding in public schools and the potential fallout for the future of arts criticism and consumption in Los Angeles.) He hosted "Morning Classical" on WKCR-FM every Wednesday morning (until 2008), following Phil Schaap, and taught an adult writing class at Columbia's Community Impact program. He also hosted a popular blues jam in downtown Manhattan called "Chase the Blues."

As an actor, Jonathan studied with Herbert Berghof, Uta Hagen, Victor Garber, Austin Pendleton, Bill Hickey, Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham, and Anna Sokolow. Recently, Jonathan became the artistic director of NetActors, an international new media company of actors. Their charter offering, Tony Verna's "Algebra One, Murder Two," is scheduled for podcast release in 2012. Be sure to look for his short film, "The Windigo," now in post-production.

He is the father of Sophia, who is in her 13th year.
