As you all know, I value greatly my friendships with fellow theatre artists; and in 2001, a very talented actor and friend named David Dukes - who I had first met years ago in Israel while filming my TV series - passed away at a very young age. David acted in all media (and distinguished himself in every one of them), and I was lucky enough to have seen his work at the Matrix Theatre and the Ahmanson (last year's "Midsummer" and "Measure for Measure"). The last time I saw David, we had fun comparing notes on the character of Lucio - one character we both played - and I as a stage actor was always inspired by his successes (he seemed to live the life to which I aspire). He always made time for me and was ever eager to share advice. I will always look up to him....... He will be sorely missed. ******************* Also gone but not forgotten: Tito Puente (1914-2000), 'el Rey,' the one and only. I'd seen Tito play live several times, and he was the greatest. When I worked at the Palladium in the 80's for Jerry Rubin, Tito would always be hanging around, getting ready to play on Thursday (Latin) nights. He and I never really spoke that much, but I'm sure he knew I loved his music.********************** **************************************************************************************************************The friends that run the SITES LINKED BELOW have worked very diligently to make them informative and exciting and interesting to all, and I truly believe that they represent a great cross-section of online talent. ******************************Emmitt is a filmmaker and raconteur . I worked with Emmitt on his newest film, "Santa's Letters." Visit his site for some mentions of a fun play I did with him a while back, "Mergers & Acquisitions." ********************************Bobby Sussman is a former Studio Guide at Universal Studios who became infamous as one of the 'Backdraft Eight,' some hapless kids who were crucified for being more clever and resourceful than their bosses. *******************************Let's see, Barbara - is a net friend of mine who goes to school at Davis, hosts a gymnastics site (she's a gymnast herself) and is a bottomless ocean of info on the X-Files, Star Trek (she's a loyal 'Shipper' AND a 'Trekker') and other things Disney. Plus, she's a talented writer as well. ************************************Mike Walters is a nut. Plain and simple. He and I worked together on the Halloween scene at Universal (he's been featured in BOTH the documentaries I filmed about Universal), and we worked side-by-side on the new Chipmunks Show. If you need to reach ANYBODY at Universal, chances are they're linked on Mike's fun site. *********************************************Roark Gourley is one of my favourite artists in Southern California. His domain, "Coolsville," was originally a nightclub/disco/perfomance space/ theatre (alas, now 'translated' into something else) that welcomed me on my very first visit to Laguna Beach. A fixture at the Festival of Arts (of which I am a proud member), Roark WAS on the Board of Directors (sorry, Roark! They suck, I know...) and has been embroiled in a tiff with the City of Laguna Beach over the lease of the 'Pageant of the Masters.' Ironically, Roark's work, while it appears in countless media and materials (not just canvases), reminds me of the playfulness of my favourite all-time artist, PETER MAX, whom i just met on a VERY recent visit to... Laguna Beach.... *****************************************Chris and Yen, collectively known as "Yeris," are My/Yeen's siblings by relation and marriage. They didn't come to see my shows, but visit their site anyway. My's cute page is also linked below. I love her so much!!! ***'Romancing the Southland' is a great site for all my fellow romantics out there. It's run by a current Studio Guide, but the link is *broken*. I'm sure it will be fixed just as soon as Bob clears his bong. ************************************** Lilly Z is an instructor at the University (my first language tutor) and a good friend. She and her husband, Ping, are also pals with old buddy Eli Pinchovski of San Francisco. If you like animals, enter her realm! ******************************************Rita Dytuco is a champion bodybuilder in Western Canada, a fine personal trainer, and a sweet gal as well. Her site is motivational, inspirational,....... and very sexy! You go, Rita! ******************************************************* "Bat Country" is a hot Hollywood band fronted by my friend Norm Kelsey (and backed up by buddies 'Scooter' Franse and Dennis 'Chandler' Satterfield).
