When Grandma passed on family
members chose remembrances from
her possessions.
Selected first were dishes she had used daily to lovingly serve
meals. (I am sure that each of us had made a few of the chips.)
Passed over were the "good dishes" in the china cabinet, which
were used only for special occasions.
Friends outside the family gladly accepted her "good" things.
MORAL:
Use all the lovely things you own to make memories now, of what you want your loved ones to
cherish, as much as you do.
If you have two children who
both like a particular piece of crystal that you use on special
occasions, go ahead and buy a second (identical) piece so they can
each have that special memory in their own home someday.
