Darren J Seeley (cruelmessenger)'s Q&A session time with Angie Harmon
Question #1: What genre film you would like to be in?
Angie Harmon: Action/romance. I got offered a horror flick once, but I'm not a screamer..
Question#2: What kind of film do you get offered the most?
AH: Romance/ comedy. I do like to laugh.
Question#3: If you were offered a vixen/bad gal villian, would you do it?
AH: Bad girl...if I was offered a chance to do it, oh yeah! So far I've been typrcast as the Baywatch Babe and as Straight-Arrow Annie. I'd love to do a Bitch role. That would be fun.
Question #4:Do you think it is unfair of certian media to constantly inform you of "the role that got away" (i.e. "Charlies Angels") *they do this to a lot of celebs* even though the film is at its core, a slick piece of mindless babble that becomes a hit at the box office...eh..lets just say...Quality vs. quanity.
AH: Yes, it is. I mean, get on with it!
Q#5} When being offered a role in a film, does the choice accepting it rely on the script or the director assigned to helm it?

AH : I usually evaluate the script, because no matter how good the director is, if the script isn't well written enough that I can get a "feel" for the character I'm playing, it's not going to 'work' for me.

Q#6} Do you have a favorite director in film, if you have one?
AH: James Cameron.

Q#7.} Name any actors/actresses who you always wanted to work with but haven't done so as of yet. These folks have to be among the living.
AH: Jeff Daniels, Dame Judi Dench, Christopher Reeve, Della Reese, Carrie-Anne Moss. Jeff Daniels is cute, for an old guy. Dame Judi is THE consummate actress. Christopher Reeve has so much courage and presence it'd be wonderful working with him. Della Reese is a very firm believer in her faith, and it gives her an air of calm that I've rarely ever seen in anyone connected with Hollywood. And Carrie-Anne Moss because I saw her in Matrix and in Red Planet, and I think she kicks a$$!!!

Q#8.} You often said that Dick "The " Wolf doesn't like you going AWOL for other films, yet you did "Good Advice" with Charlie Sheen. Therefore, does location play a factor? i.e. New York vs. LA or Canada vs. USA?
AH : Location, contract terms, filming schedule, and the amount of studio rivalry between the two. When you watch 'Good Advice', somewhere on there, in teeny print, it says "Angie Harmon appears courtesy of Wolf Productions."

Q.#9} Are you more intrested in indie films or Major Hollywierd pictures?
AH : I'll basically take what catches my eye. If it's well written, the directing's good, and the story is something I can get into, then yeah, I'll do it. The good thing is that I get to make most of my career decisions myself. My agent allows me to do that instead of him making the decisions for me. I mean, sure, I'll ask his opinion on whether I'll take a part or not, and he did drag me into the Law & Order audition, but the decisions so far have been good ones, and I thank him for that.
Q. I noticed that after being on a series for a certian amount of time, some actors go an extra mile and direct an episode of that show. I noticed also that no L&O actor has done this. Does this ever come up-even if Dick Wolf shoots the idea down?
A. I don't think the question actually came up, ever. Everything I know about directing could fit under my pinky finger and still leave room leftover.
Q.:What was it like -really like- the first time you auditioned for L&O? The first day on the set?
A: IT WAS NERVEWRACKING! Here I am, skinny, awkward Angie Harmon with only a few failed shows in my resume, joining an established cast on one of the most popular shows on TV. I mean, you can't help but be nervous, in that situation. All the other cast members trying to be friendly, while at the same time sizing you up, looking you over critically, checking your 'star' qoutient, wondering if you'll be there for a while, a few seasons, or just a few episodes...Jesse said he felt much the same way when he joined up. Because you know, no matter how you vow to yourself you won't do it to anyone else when you get to where they are, you find yourself doing it unconsciously. Sam made a teasing remark about my BWN work that first day, and I went home and cried, I was so humiliated. He apologised for it later, promised he didn't mean it, but it still sticks in both our minds. I'm afraid to say I made the same faux pas the first day Jesse was there, and I still blush. It broke the ice, but I'm not proud to say I did it. Q.:The writers give you a lot of -shall we say, "quotables"-i.e. "Let's Hang 'em all!"... off the top, what to date is your favorite "tagline"?
A. There have been so many. I think that one you mentioned has to be one of my fave's, because it exemplifies everything Abbie is and fights for. The other one that sticks in my mind was from last season, "It was an accident, it was suicide, it was a breathmint.. this guy is giving me a headache."
Q.} Is it ok to post any of your answers at my webpage (if you say no, they won't be there, it's as simple as that, if yes, which q's?)
AH: Yes, it's okay, and feel free to post whichever ones you want to. I didn't mention anything private, so I don't have to worry about my privacy being compromised.

Welcome to my semi-pseudo-shrine-like homage to Angie Harmon. Sure, you might find better sites, and that's all well and good. But you know I have to throw in my two pennies as well.

Well, to be fair, I am more of a "Law & Order" fan-but when Angie Joined the cast, it made the show a bit more easier to watch, cause I was still miffed that they booted off Jill Hennessy, and killed off Claire Kincaid. (*sorry, her replacement-Cary Lowell-the actress before Angie, did nothing for me.) But there was something slightly different about Angie's character, Abbie Carmicheal. She had a sense of humor that showed up now and then.

In Angie's first epsisode , Abbie and Jack McCoy (Sam Waterson) are cramming to prepare for a case. He went out to a local vendor, and offers her the salad.

She frowns
She looks. "What's that?"

"Ribs"McCoy answers.

She takes the ribs, hands Jack back the salad.

(updated : 6/9/2004)

In updating my general website, I discarded a few pages that I never got around to doing, due to various factors. They include:
*Working on my own scripts. If I don't get to writing, I'm keeping actors out of work.
*Although on "hiatus", my moderation at The Projector Booth, an amatuer review hub had also taken up some time.
...among other things. Since this page was one of the more 'complete'- I am keeping it around. However, I don't know how up to date they are so surf in there at your own risk.
As for the Angie Harmon Fan Club/Group at Yahoo!, I still pop in now and then, but aside from Erica (fmr Nightshades 2000) I don't have much contact anymore with the regulars who used to be there from 1998 to 2002.
