Chapter 1
Jason, Brady, Phillip, and Shawn are all at one table. Belle, Mimi, and Chloe are at another table. All trying to not think about one another. Jason had his eyes on Mimi for awhile. Phillip was always interested in Chloe and just never admitted it. And Shawn never dated anyone who came close to the way he felt about Belle. Brady had no one. Ever since he let go of Heather he hasn’t thought about dating. He spent most of his time in his room alone. Nobody Knows It But Me by Babyface came on. It struck all the guys in the heart as soon as it started. Hitting Brady the worst though. He felt tears coming in his eyes.
"Aww, who put this song on? " asked Brady whose mind thought of Heather right away. Her beautiful green eyes , long red hair, perfect body. She has a smile that would brighten up his day when nothing else could. His soulmate. His heart was about to break right there in front of everybody. Everyone thought he was such a hard ass. That nothing could faze him. But he had a secret life that no one knew about. Back at his old school he was so different. He was outgoing, popular, everyone liked him. But nobody really knew him. Not like Heather. His delicate flower.
A single tear escaped from his face. He swiped it off his face quickly. But not quickly enough for the guys to have not seen. "Hey , Brady are you ok?," Shawn asked. "Yeah, I’m fine. Just had something in my eye," Brady sad and covered quickly. Too quickly for that matter. The guys continue just chatting about the upcoming summer. Just being let out of school a week ago they were just now trying to come up with a whole weekend of parties. Phillips cabin at the lake seemed like a perfect place. Brady was barely listening. One of the girls had left a magazine on their table and Brady was flipping through it mindlessly. Until he stopped quickly when he saw this picture of a model. Thinking that he knew her he checked the credits for the photos to see the models name. And there it was. "Oh my God, Its her! She really did it." Brady began to think about her, and how much he loved her as that song played on.
Brady and Heather are walking around a man-made lake at night. To come upon a site Brady had set up earlier. There is a blanket spread out with some candles lit up. And a pizza dinner was there waiting for them. Soft music was playing from the radio. A few selections from their favorite love songs. The evening was just warm and perfect for a night like this one. Full of romance, love and hope in the air. "Oh Brady. This is perfect," Heather breathed. "I’m sorry this isn’t a gourmet meal or anything…"Brady stammered almost feeling embarrassed. "Brady, I said it was perfect. You went to all this trouble for me. And whether it was pizza or peanut butter sandwiches or a gourmet meal I am just happy being here with you. It doesn’t matter," Heather reassured Brady. "Now lets eat I am starving." " Your wish is my command." Brady recalls after they had finished their ‘gourmet’ meal that just lying there by candlelight and just looking into her eyes he was drowning in the greenness of them. Just to see her looking at him so lovingly. He thought that no one could ever love him. He was afraid to love because he didn’t want to lose somebody like his dad lost his mom. But something about Heather was different. She was beautiful and had guys flirting with her all day. And she had eyes for no one but him. Just thinking about that made him love her more. He held her closer and started kissing her. She responded the way he hoped she would. "Heather, I don’t know of the right time to ever tell you . I have wanted to tell you for the longest time now." Slightly embarrassed for being so honest with his feelings. "What Brady?" Anticipated Heather. Hoping he would say what she wanted him to say. " I wanted to tell you that I love you. I have fallen head over heels in love with you. And I have tried to ignore it but it won’t go away. I have never felt this way ever." Brady sighed with relief after finally saying what he needed to say. Now it was just waiting to see how Heather reacted to what he said. He just put his heart on the line here. What was he thinking. "Brady, I’m glad it didn’t go away. I have loved you since the first moment I saw you. I am so happy right now. I don’t want to ever forget this night ever. I love you so much Brady. This past year has been perfect," Heather cried out. After hearing this Brady kissed her and they made love for the first time right there.
‘Heather, where are you?’ Brady thought as the familiar pain of loneliness overwhelmed him again. Just like part of his soul was missing. And he knew it was. His soul mate was somewhere in this world with her face being put into magazines.
The night before Brady was to come home for summer break Heather told him about the modeling job that she was offered. She’ d have the job of a lifetime. But Heather was going to turn it down because she didn’t want to be away from Brady. She wanted to spend her life with him. After all they did talk about getting married in the next few years. Brady went to the last party alone to begin with and Heather was going to meet him later. Brady was there, surrounded by his friends, and there were a few girls with their eyes on him. But all he could think about was Heather and the job the that she was offered. He couldn’t let her give up an opportunity like that because of him. He had to end it. Even though he knew it was going to kill him to let her go. She was his flower. She was everything beautiful and positive and happy in his world. But this was an opportunity of a lifetime. He was doing the right thing he kept telling himself. Heather walked in and took in the scene before her. She saw some ladies checking out her man. So she walked over and snuggled up on Brady’s lap and gave him a big kiss and looked over at those women and gave them an ‘ Eat shit and die smile’. Brady just looked at her amused with what she just did. The girl could handle any situation. She didn’t let anyone get to her, except for him that is. He could get to here everytime. "Having fun Heather?" " Yup. Lets go somewhere and talk ok?" "Lets go", Brady said and led her out into the back yard. Brady had the most upset look on his face. What in the world is wrong with him? "Brady, I can’t believe that tomorrow you are leaving going back to Salem. Why don’t I come with you? And then we can go visit my folks. We can make it an adventure and stop off in little towns along the way… Brady why are you looking at me like that?" Heather had felt fear run through her as she saw the look on Brady’s face. He looked as if he were about to give the worst news of his life. "Heather , this isn’t going to work. You and me. You need to go on with your life. And you need to take that job and forget about me. You need to go call up that lady and go. We can’t be together and you need to move on." Brady tried to sound so cold and heartless but it wasn’t working. He knew Heather was going to see right through it. "Brady, I know what you are doing. It’s not going to work. I’m not leaving you. And you are not going to push me away. So just stop it. " Heather said on the verge of tears. She didn’t like the way Brady was acting. Even though she knew he was doing it for her. She couldn’t imagine loving anyone else like she did Brady. "Heather, just leave! I am not going to change my mind! You need to leave and go pack right now! Call that lady and get to where you need to go and just go! I don’t want you here and I don’t want to be with you anymore! You need to leave and do everything you dreamed of. Without me! " Brady said angrily. Why was she making it harder then it already was? Why couldn’t she just do as he wanted and go? "Heather if you love me you will do as I ask and leave." She knew there was no changing his mind. But there is always the future, right? Maybe one day they could find each other again. She had to keep hope. She had too. "Fine Brady. I’ll do it for you just because I love you. But I will tell you one thing. You will regret this. One day very soon. When you find love you should not let go of it. I will always love you Brady. Always!" And with that Heather gave Brady one last kiss and held on to him," Oh Brady, I don’t want to let you go. I am dying right now,"she sobbed on his chest. "I’ll miss you. And I will always hold you close to my heart." And with that she turned and started to walk away, only to look back one last time with a tear rolling down her cheek. And then she was gone.
"Hey Brady , why do you keep staring at that chick in the magazine?" Phillip asked. " Just daydreaming I guess on what it would be like to have a woman like that." Brady said. "Yeah, I hear you. I would love to date one of these super models. But you know something? She looks kinda familiar. I have seen her somewhere before..."Phillip said pondering for a moment where he could have seen this lady before. "Yeah right Phil where did you see her? Modeling at one of the shoots at Titan? Come on, you expect us to believe that?" Jason said sarcastically. "No you doofus! I know I have seen her before though…" Brady getting a little nervous tries to change the subject about the upcoming party at Phillips cabin on the lake. "So, Phil….. What about this party on the la…."Brady was asking but got interrupted by Phillip shouting, "I KNOW WHERE I HAVE SEEN HER BEFORE!" "Man! Calm down! Talk lower. What are you trying to do? Tell the whole world? " Shawn said trying to get Phillip to shut up. " I have seen this gorgeous woman in Brady’s room. He has a picture of himself with her." " No, you didn’t you dork. That is a picture of me with someone who looks like her. That is all," Brady said covering up his past with Heather. He didn’t want anyone to know because he didn’t want to answer any questions about her. The only one who knew about her was Belle. He could tell Belle anything. She was the only other person besides Heather that could totally understand him. " Well, that must be her twin then because they look exactly alike." Phillip was trying to be right so he wouldn’t get ragged on later. " Well, its not so lets get back to this party ok? What is going to happen and who is going to be there? Need any help with anything?," Brady asked trying to take the attention off of himself. " Well, we will have plenty of babes there. And plenty of alcohol. So all I need you to bring is a good attitude. Maybe you could pick up some chicks and get laid while you are at it. Maybe that will put you in a better mood." Phillip said. "Maybe. But we’ll just see what happens ok? Look I gotta split ok? This is just getting to be too much for me. Maybe I’ll go see Grampa Vic. See ya later." And with that Brady took off out of DotCom and went to his truck to find a quiet place to spend some time with his thoughts. " Well, so much for that," Phillip said. The guys decided to go play video games then. While trying to figure out a good way to hook up with their lovely ladies at the party. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "Belle, what are you thinking?" Chloe asked. " I am just wondering why my brother just left here looking like he was the most miserable person in the world? Maybe I should go and see if he is ok." "Maybe you should stay over here with us. I don’t think he is in the mood to talk. Let him come to you. Or ask him later. But what we need to do right now is figure out what we are wearing to Phillips’ party and who we are going to try to snag there. I want to make a certain persons head turn. If you know what I mean?" Chloe said wiggling her eyebrows. "You two are crazy, you know that?" Mimi said. Trying to hide her own excitement. Just the thought of getting Jason’s attention made her shiver. Of course getting any guys attention would be great! "Well, what we need to do is go home and get ready for some shopping. They are having some great twilight sales tonight at the mall. And I have my dad’s credit card… so lets get busy and ditch these guys," Belle said. "Well, lets get this show on the road then," Chloe said. This was the happiest she has felt in days. "Ok, we will all meet a Ballistix in an hour, ok?" "OK!", Belle and Mimi said in unison. The girls got up and walked over to where the guys were at. "Hey you guys. We’re ready to go," Mimi said not even waiting for them to answer. She just turned around and started walking out the door with the other girls in tow. "Well, thanks for waiting girls," Jason said. to be continued.... |
