Valery Nikolaev is fast becoming one of his countries hottest exports. 'The Saint' marks his US feature film debute, and he has completed Oliver Stone's 'U-Turn',with Sean Penn, and Nick Nolte. Nikolaev began his acting career on an internship at the Barbican Centre in London and went on to study at the Julliard school in New York, the Moscow art theatre anda the McCarter theatre in Princeton,New Jersasy. Valery is also a professional gymnast and ice hockey player,as well as a talented dancer linguist and stage combat instructor whos many talents have already been recognized in Russia. His numerous film credits include Mosfilms'Very Faithful Wife','Nastia', 'Southern Cross','Chonkin','Mon's Lucky Charm','Creator',and 'Niagra'. His theatrical credits include the Moscow Art Theatre's 'Wit By Half''Olen and Shalashova','Few Dances Under the Rain','Undine',and'Unexpected Happiness',all of which he choreographed. He also starred in Barry Cox's production of 'The Crucible', and he appeared opposite Vanessa Redgrave in the Russian Globus production of ' Henry IV',a benefit for the children of Slovenia. |
