A common perception from the general public is that wrestling fans are ignorant. Now I'm not gonna say there aren't ignorant people who watch wrestling but I am gonna say that people who watch wrestling aren't ignorant. Following me so far? To anyone who isn't a fan of wrestling it's baffling to them as to why someone would watch it. Because after all, it's fake. Right?

  Any one who has ever watched an episode of wrestling and admitted to it knows what I'm talking about. When you say, "Yeah I watch it." and their response is ALWAYS, "Why? It's fake!" As if we had no idea. As if we hadn't been told a countless number of times before! It's like when ya light up a cigarette and someone feels the overwhelming urge to take time out of their life and remind ya that it's not healthy. Because all cigarette smokers have been locked away in caves for the past 50 years.

  But what are we supposed to say back to them without sounding like an ass? Well, it's tough. But it can be done. Simply ask them, "Well what do you watch on TV?" Now you have them right were you want them. Unless they only watch the news then your ready to go in for the kill. Lets say for example they say, Friends. You should be nice enough to take the time out of your life and inform them that Friends ISN'T real. It's all an act! There is no Ross & Rachel torrid love affair. There are no six rich, single, white, late 20's, yuppys that enter each others apartments as freely as they want and not have mad orgy's. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's all a big lie!

  But then what do they do as a come back? They go into the unoriginal routine about how wrestlers swing and the punch is 4 feet away. But of course when Dennis Franz (sp?) punches someone on tv it's for real!

  Don't you just wish there was a way to have these people inform Mick Foley that his ear is missing because wrestling is fake? Or that his 20ft fall from the top of the Hell In A Cell, that makes professional stuntmen cringe to this day, that it was all fake. Do you think they would tell Bret Hart or Terry Funk that the reason they'll both soon be walking with artificial knees is because they're entire careers were fake. The reason Darren Drosdov and Kenny Burns are in wheelchairs is because it's all fake. Dynamite Kid will never walk the same because it's all fake! Gary Albright will NEVER take another breathe of life...because wrestling is fake.
