Why The Thanksgiving Theme?

Ya know all the big Holidays have their hook. On Halloween everyone has an excuse to dress up, get candy, or go to a party and make an ass of themselves. On Christmas everyone gets to look forward to getting presents. Easter is a bright a colorful day that allows the candy factories to push their crap on us one more day. St. Patricks Day is another excuse to get drunk and pinch people like rabid perverts. But what about Thanksgiving? Who benefits from that?

The answere is simple. Nobody. Well, except of course for the turkey companies. But they don't ask for it? How many comercials do you see them running? None. Why? Because it's a given. Their in demand. They don't have to push the turkeys onto us. We ask for them. Unlike the rest of the Corporate world at every chance they get.

But what makes a Holiday great? It's how you feel about it afterwards. On Halloween ya have to think back to wether you got enough candy or if ya nailed that chick in the hooker costume? On St. Patricks Day most people will be content depending on how severe their hangover is. Christmas? Well we all know how that is judged. On how much crap we got. Oh sure...it's better to give than to recieve....blah blah blah. We all know that's a bunch of crap we tell each other so we don't feel like selfish greedy bastards in the morning. But the bottom line is everything is based on how much we benefited. So why is Thanksgiving one of the most underated Holidays? Because nobody benefits. And for that factor alone it should be far more celebrated than it actually is.

Thanksgiving gives America a chance be thankful that we have women who know their place and get in the kitchen and strive all day long to prepare us something that meets our satisfactory approval. While we get to plop down watch a nice game on tv or, my personal favorite activity on any day, take a nap. If I ran this country all of November would be Thanksgiving! It's not appreciated like it should be and damn it I'm gonna be the man who steps forward and says, "All hail Dan-O!" err....umm...I mean "Hooray for Turkey Day!"

  Until next time...I'm Dan-O & don't mind me...I'm just rambling.
