Nicole and I packed. It was funny, and I ended up packing for both of us because instead of folding her clothes and putting them neatly into her suitcase, she threw her dirty clothes all over the suitcase and tried to close it. I on the other hand had at the end of every day folded my dirty clothes and put them in a plastic bag so when it came time to pack all I would have to do was transfer that bag of neatly folded clothes into the nearly empty suitcase. With my bag next to the door waiting to be taken out I went back over and assisted Nicole with her mess. I managed to fold almost everything and get it in the suitcase the right way. With the packing finished I decided to go down to the small game room in the hotel and see if they had a driving game.
You see, I’m addicted to the driving games. The ones where you push the gas and turn the wheel. I’ve always wanted one, but never managed to convince my mother I should own one. I wonder why? Anyway there was and I managed to only strike down a few pedestrians and loose about five dollars worth of quarters until someone walked up next to me and put a hand on my shoulder.
I looked up, oblivious to the game where I had just run about four people down at once. It was AJ and he was there to remind me that I had only an hour before check out. I sighed. I didn’t really want to go home. I mean sure seeing my best friend Laura and all would be cool but I didn’t want to deal with finals that were coming up in a week or the impending decision of where I definitely wanted to go to college.
“Sure, I’ll be right up,” I said returning to finish out my quarter.
I got upstairs and as expected found the room door open wide. Nicole was missing, but as always she’d managed to forget to lock the door. It was a special talent of hers. I swear. I gathered up my stuff and took Nicole’s with me too. I called the bellboy and had him take it to the lobby to wait while I pulled my car around. Once loaded I headed back upstairs for a final check of the room. Nothing of ours was left, so I went up to where everyone else, presumably including Nicole was.
