Chapter 10 *ON THE BUS*

“I think Nick has a crush,” called Brian.

“Do not,” he said tearing his attention away from the video game he was attempting to master.

“Sure, I didn’t notice the way you answered her little question on what you like in a girl,” AJ said joining the conversation.

“Oh yeah, you are good to talk, the way you flirted with the other. No one just gets in a fight for a blanket without an ounce for flirt,” Nick tried to convince AJ.

“You know what little one…” AJ said reminding Nick that he was older.

“What o ancient one,” said Nick mocking AJ.

“You’re gonna get it for that one,” he laughed pouncing on Nick, proceeding to put him in a headlock, “Hey Brian, look what I have here.”

Brian joined in, tickling Nick till he was laughing too hard to talk. The phone rang, and they all jumped up to see whose cell it was. It turned out to be Kevin’s. Management was having a fit because they were late for the interview they had with Teen Magazine. They told the bus driver to step on it as much as they could to get there on time.

When the Boys finally met up with management again, they were in deep:

“You could have called!” their manager Michael stormed, slamming his planner onto a table. “Everyone was so worried! Nick, your mom was nuts because she couldn’t find you! I left you guys alone for once, and trusted you to get yourselves, and the bus, where you should be on time. And this is how you repay me??!!”

“We’re sorry,” Howie offered weakly.

“You know we didn’t mean to do that Mike,” Nick said, giving his best puppy-dog look.

“I know, but that still doesn’t help matters one bit,” sighed their manager, beginning to soften.

“Guys, lets get in there and get the interview done with OK?” Kevin said as he herded the rest of the Boys into another room.

“We’re really sorry,” Nick called as he was shoved through the door.
