Kevin was still vegging on the couch, and Howie was mesmerized with his little computer. Nick was interested in what we were doing, and Brian was napping. AJ was reading a book I gave him. I think it was Great Expectations but I still am not sure. Nick challenged Nicole to a video game, and I went back to my room to finish my homework. After another thirty minutes, it was dinnertime. AJ wasn’t pleased that he couldn’t cook dinner, but since his mom is a really good cook he didn’t complain.
Nicole was in awe of being in the same house as the BSB, and didn’t complain once, even though, I knew she hated to be referred to as Nicki. Which Nick found very, very fun to do. That’s something even I don’t do any more, because her old boyfriend had called her that, and it was such a messy break up, she didn’t normally want to talk about it with anyone. I couldn’t believe she tolerated that from him, I normally get glared at when I slip up and call her that
That evening, the boys told us that they were going to have to leave in the morning no matter what. I was a little sad, but they explained that their management already had to cancel three interviews because they were at my house. Although, all of them gave me their e-mail’s and made me promise to write. That evening both Howie and Kevin went to bed early, anticipating a long day ahead.
The other five of us found our way downstairs into the family room, where I passed out blankets, and we started to talk. Our subjects ranged from weather, to acting, to how much car trips suck.
“Hey Nick,” Nicole said quietly.
“Yeah,” he said casually answering.
“What do you look for in a girl?”
“It depends, at our concerts, the best looking, but that’s just for fun. In reality I try to find personalities that intrigue me enough to keep me interested in a relationship. As well as a sweet face, which normally involves big brown eyes,” he said looking right at her.
“Oh really…” she said smiling.
“Somebody has a crush,” I whispered singsong in her ear.
“Shut up Robin. And, I do not,” she almost hissed back at me.
“Touchy, Touchy. You’d better watch out Nick, she’s getting feisty.” Nicole turned beet red, and looked about ready to kill me. “It was a joke, I’m sorry,” I told her.
“How long have you two known each other?” asked AJ, “it seems as of you are almost like sisters.”
“Well, let me think,” I said.
“Ten years,” Nicole burst in with.
“Yeah, that’s it, it’s been a while hasn’t it Shortstuff,” I said jokingly poking her in the side.
She pretended to be angry at the use of my most degrading nickname for her. She’s only 5’2” tall. But started to giggle uncontrollably.
“Sorry to interrupt our little party, but I’m going to bed OK?” said Brian.
“And miss all this fun? You’ve gotta be kidding,” said Nick.
“I want to be at least coherent tomorrow morning, it’s already almost three in the morning,” he countered with. “Goodnight y’all.”
“Well one less person to hog the blankets,” said AJ cheerfully.
“At least not a blanket you’re gonna get,” I said lunging for the one extra blanket that lay folded on the floor.
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah!” I managed to get out before an all out war started. I am not sure how they figured it out, but I got the worst tickling of my life. I also ended up wrapped incredible tightly in my blanket from squirming so much.
“Ha! Got ya!,” AJ said triumphantly, rolling my blanket over.
I struggled to move, but the effort was too taxing on my already tired mind, so I just curled up and went to sleep. I half remember being picked up and moved to the couch.
