Chapter 11

“Anyway, come on. You gotta meet the other guys. I assure you they’ll
be in better moods,” Kevin said directing me toward a group of girls with three
guys in the middle. I recognized Brian and gave him a thumbs up sign but the
others I only knew because Ashleigh had told me their names.

“Nick, D, come over here and meet Bobbi. I met her the other night at a
club. She’s real cool. I think you’ll both like her.”

“Be over in a minute. Just let us finish signing the autographs ok?”
Howie said trying to please the girls and Kevin.

A little bit later Nick and Howie drifted over and let Kevin introduce
me. “Guys, this is Bobbi. Bobbi, this is Nick and this is Howie,” he said
pointing them out.

“Hi, nice to meet you. The concert was really good. You guys perform
well,” I said sincerely. They were good. It wasn’t a surprise to me that they
were so popular.

“Nice to meet you too. You live around here?” Nick said. And for the
second time that evening I got checked out visibly.

“Yeah, I live on the other side of town with Whitney. I think Brian
probably already introduced her to you guys onstage.”

“You’re her roommate? Wow. She sings so well. And had the sweetest
shirt on. Where did she buy that? I think my girlfriend would like one of those,”
Nick said.

“Actually, I made it, but I could make one for your girlfriend if you
want,” I offered feeling self conscious about it.

“You’ve got to be kidding. That shirt looks designer,” Howie said.

“Nope. I did it myself, with input from Whitney herself. You see I
bought a white tank top, cut the bottom off, and dyed it blue in the pattern
Whitney asked for,” I explained.

“Wow. I need you to meet my girlfriend then. Her name is Autumn.
She’s a model as well as a college student. She’s going to med school in a
couple of years,” Nick said, zoning out and obviously daydreaming about his
girlfriend.

“Beautiful and smart if she is in med school. That’s quite a find. I’d be
glad to make her a shirt.”
