The links are from your songs on the internet, which I have 'beefed up' a bit in terms of tone qualities. I attempted to get sounds you would normally obtain from a guitar pedal.

FLANGER EFFECT: This is obviously a flanger effect, quite straight forward, using one of your samples from Things Like These

DISTORTION: The same as turning up the gain on your amp, it is the most common form of getting distortion without a pedal. Sounds pretty crap when you ask me, but my bro likes this sort of thing so I guess it can't be too bad. There is other things you can tweak to obtain different distortions (eg fuzzier sounding). The sample is from Yourself.

ECHO: This obviously creates an echo, but also provides the sound with more space and atmosphere to it. This is my favourite effect, it improves the tone of the guitar a million times over. It really brings the guitar to life. I have taken the solo at the end of Things Like These and also attempted to remove some of the distortion from the original recording, however the distortion seems there to stay...for now. ECHO #2 is the same effect but with the cleaner guitar sounds from the intro of Things Like These.

PHASER: Again, if you know what a phaser is, this is fairly straight forward. Taken from a sample in Yourself. Oh and it is a bit short cause i fucked up the conversion, but the short bit will give you a brief idea of what is going on. I'm sure you know what a phaser sounds like.

Just a final note on quality, you can get them all to sound like the same quality of your intro to Things Like These, even out of a ten watt amp, it's just that you turned up your recordings too loud and it began to distort! It is often best to record it slightly softer and not distorted and then digitally beef up the volume.

If you like these sounds, you should come over with some songs and do some serious recording, I would like nothing better than to make a cd of my mates music. All this was done on my computer with software I obtained off the internet. So you too can turn your computer into a wicked guitar pedal/effects unit.
