The Muses Within

Was It All a Dream?

The butterflies in Carrie's stomach fluttered happily as she approached her destination. Her old roommate Peter was on a short leave from the Navy and Carrie hadn't seen him since he had left for boot camp six months earlier. All their friends were getting together for a party before Peter was being shipped off to an undisclosed location.

The car careened into the familiar drive of the house Peter and Carrie had once shared. She quickly stopped the car and turned off its engine. She checked her face in the mirror before hopping out and heading toward the backyard.

As she rounded the corner of the house, she could hear her friends as they talked and laughed together. She smiled as several of them noticed her and called out to her as they waved. Carrie hugged several of them before she slid open the sliding glass doors and walked into the kitchen.

"Carrie!" Peter yelled out as he ran over to her and threw his arms around her. She laughed as he lifted her off the ground and squeezed her tightly. "I've missed my Carrie!"

"I've missed you too, Pee-Wee." She said into his shoulder. "But right now I can't breathe!"

Peter set her back down and took a step back to look at her. "You look amazing."

"And you're pretty sexy yourself, Mr. Navy man!" Carrie said as she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Where's the alcohol?"

"Same ol' Carrie." He said with a smile and pointed out the plethora of alcohol set up in one corner of the kitchen.

Carrie poured herself a concoction of Vodka, pineapple juice and Hawaiian Punch and mixed it with her straw. She then set about making conversation with friends she hadn't seen in a while.

Several conversations and three drinks later, Carrie excused herself. She needed some fresh air. She stepped out the sliding door into the night air and shut it behind her. She headed down the steps of the back deck and walked out toward the swing in the yard. She sat down and swayed lightly as the summer breeze blew through her hair.

From somewhere behind her, someone lit a cigarette and it startled her. She placed her hand to her chest and exhaled sharply as a male figured stepped out from the shadows. She smiled up at him. "You scared me." She said.

"I'm sorry." He smiled back at her. He inhaled a puff from his cigarette and blew it out slowly. "I'm Tom."

"I'm Carrie." She said. "You wanna sit?" She motioned to the empty seat beside her.

"Sure." He said as he plopped down next to her.

Tom smoked his cigarette and they sat in silence. Once he finished, he flicked the spent cigarette into the bin she and Peter had placed near the swing to keep from littering the yard with cigarette butts. He turned slightly in the swing so that he was almost facing Carrie. There were a new set of butterflies in her stomach. Her palms began to sweat and she could feel a blush rising into her cheeks. From her peripheral vision, she could see a smile spread across Tom's face. It was a knowing smile. A cocky smile. He knew she wanted him. He knew if he made an advancement, she wouldn't protest. He knew that Carrie was the little fly trapped in his spider web.

Her entire body began to tingle. She knew what was about to happen. She was just waiting for the first move. The anticipation grew inside her as the only movement being made was that of the swing still swaying slowly. "Do something! Say something! Initiate some conversation! Or physical contact! Touch me, damn it!" Her mind screamed out. Finally she couldn't take it and, impulsively, she turned her head and her mouth crashed into his.

He wasn't even the slightest bit surprised. His movements were live fluid as he laced one hand into her hair as the other slid down her back and gripped her ass. He lifted her and, in one quick movement, she was straddling his lap.

Their hips grinded together and their kisses became more fevered and desperate. He tasted of cigarettes and peppermint gum. He smelled of Diesel cologne and the aroma sent her reeling. Her hands ran through the back of his braids as his hands found her firm breasts under her shirt.

Suddenly, at that moment Carrie felt a sharp blow to the back of her head. Carrie pulled away and Tom leaned forward for more. His brows furrowed as he notice the expression on her face. He looked over her shoulder at the same time Carrie turned to see a small group of girls. As she and Tom stood, Carrie was face to face with a girl she'd never seen before. She strange girl was absolutely livid. She came within inches of Carrie's face. Carrie glanced over at Tom whose face was ashen. He wasn't sure what was going to happen next.

Carrie could gather from the girl's screaming that she was either Tom's girlfriend or that she was his flavor of the week and she had come to the party with him with every expectation to leave the party with him. This girl hadn't figured Carrie into the equation. Her shouting was ear piercing and everything she said was indecipherable. Everyone from inside the house had heard the commotion and they were filing out on the deck to see what was going on.

The girl suddenly realized she wasn't getting a reaction from Carrie through yelling. She put her hands on Carrie's chest and gave her a hard shove. The crowd gave a collective gasp as Carrie stumbled backward a few steps. She regained her balance and the girl came at her again. This time Carrie was ready for her. As the girl's hands came up to shove her again, Carrie stepped forward. Her left arm blocked the girl's arms as Carrie gave the girl hard right hook to the face. The girl fell to the ground and blood trickled from her nose. Carrie stood completely still and waited for the girl's next move. Her mouth dropped open slightly as the girl stood and quietly walked away.

The crowd was silent as the girl made her way through them and to her car. She started the engine and roared off. Carrie just stood there. She wasn't exactly sure what to do next. The crowd started up their conversations again and many of them went back into the house. The fight was over and so was the excitement. Carrie shrugged her shoulders and took a step toward the house. Tom quickly grabbed her hand and jerked her along behind him as he made his way to the shed in the far left corner of the backyard. He threw the door open and dragged Carrie inside. Once inside, he flung her around so she was facing him. She assumed he was angry at her for punching his girlfriend. His face looked angry and his breathing was labored.

She opened her mouth to apologize when he shoved her hard against the wall. She was about to protest but his hands grabbed her wrists and he pinned them against the wall next to her head. His mouth found her mouth, her face, her neck, her collarbone and back up again. His body pressed firmly against hers. He released her wrists and she snaked her arms over his body until she found the button of his jeans. He grabbed the hem of her shirt and lifted it over her head as she forced his jeans open. He ripped his shirt over his head and tossed it aside atop of her discarded shirt. Tom pulled at the string of her shorts and slid them down. Carrie kicked them to the side. He slid her panties to one side and slid his middle finger into her already wet vagina.

He teased her as he playfully bit at her neck and across her chest. She writhed with pleasure. She finally couldn't handle it anymore and she reached her hand into his boxers and pulled out his throbbing cock. He sucked air in through his teeth as she tugged him closer and teased the head of his dick with her thumb. His hands slid down her back and gripped her ass. He held her up slightly as she glided his penis inside her. They both paused for a moment to savor the feeling of his hard cock deep in her vagina.

Tom suddenly pulled back and gave a hard thrust. Carrie's breath caught in her throat and her hips bucked. His thrusts came steadily and Carrie slowly felt herself growing closer and closer to climax. Her body shuddered as an orgasm washed over her. His thrusts came sharper and harder and more desperate. He climaxed with a grunt and his body jerked as he released inside her.

They held one another close as their breathing slowly returned to normal. Tom's penis slipped out of her, limp and satisfied. Tom got his boxers situated properly again and fastened his jeans. He reached down for his shirt and tossed her shirt and pants up to her. Carrie dressed quickly and smoothed her clothes down. It was suddenly awkwardly silent. Their eyes met and Carrie expected to hear him give the talk that he isn't ready for a relationship and he hopes they can remain friends. She just stood and waited for it.

Tom smiled and extended his hand. "Let's go get a drink." He said.

Carrie looked down at his hand and back up at his face. She made no movement.

"C'mon. I dunno about you but that made me thirsty!" He smiled at her.

She slowly took his hand and he pulled her into a hug. He kissed her mouth slowly before he looked into her eyes.

Carrie smiled. "Is this a dream?" She asked.

"I hope not." Tom said.

"If it is-" She said as he put his arm around her and they exited the shed, "If all of this is just all a sweet dream, I don't think I ever wanna wake up."

"You won't." Tom said. They walked up the steps of the deck and pulled open the sliding glass door. It was time for the party to begin.
