Initially the brain child of the late, great Jack Rosenthal, London's Burning took a momentum of its own and became a staple of Sunday night television scheduling. The viewers were always promised a huge shout every series and in this series, the shout is a tragic accident at a fairground. A spinning wheel ride becomes jammed by troublesome youths armed with a pole. Consequently, this led to the ride collapsing, a huge fire and people becoming trapped in crushed metal. This is just one of the many things that the fire fighters of Blue Watch have to deal with, apart from their personal problems and emotions.

Formula 1 Review 1979, at Woolworths
1979 saw Lotus secure Carlos Reutemann from Ferrari to partner Mario Andretti, leaving room for Jody Scheckter to join the Italian outfit. Wolf found a replacement for Scheckter in James Hunt, whose place was filled at McLaren by John Watson. The type 79 'wing car' had offered Lotus a great advantage in aerodynamic grip during the previous season. But for this year, many of the teams had incorporated the technology into their designs. As the season progressed William's reliability improved and Alan Jones demonstrated the team's pace, winning four out of the last six races. For Williams and Jones it was too little to late. The consistent performances from the 312T4 model of the Ferrari team paid off, and despite only having three victories throughout the season, Schecter took the title. 1979 also saw Formula One say its goodbyes to two of the decade's greatest characters: James Hunt and Niki Lauda. Hunt quit racing after the Monaco Grand Prix claiming to be fed up with Formula One, and Lauda retired at the penultimate Grand Prix in Montreal. Brunswick Films were pioneers in the embryonic days of Formula One production, when sponsors controlled the demand for footage, and before the era of global TV coverage began. They have skillfully combined film from their famous archive to create a review that captures the essence of a very special era in Grand Prix racing.

Railway Roundabout - 1962, at Woolworths
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, the BBC broadcast a series of television programmes called Railway Roundabout, featuring train lines which proved to be on the point of closure and locomotives that were about to disappear forever. This archive film footage has been transformed by Ian Allan and is now available as nine separate Railway Roundabout DVDs, all superbly recreating the lost age of steam! This fascinating DVD takes on a Distinct Isle Of Wight flavour, with highlights including various Isle of Wight engines and a journey from Ryde to Ventnor. The Cambrian Coast Express is also captured on film along with images of Southern Region trains at Seaton Junction and the Jones'Goods to Kyle of Lochalsh train. The Bluebell line in its early preserved form is featured as are the ex-MR locomotives of Kirtley and Johnson.
