Manhattan:

This is the second of a two part description of the events of the past weekend that I spent in New York City.

We crossed into Manhattan and started some glorious aimless wandering.  I found a statue of a dog outside of Pace University that was painted all cool and dedicated to America's search and rescue dogs.  While some people went into the Pace University building to use the restrooms, I sat down on the steps with three or four other people.  A handsome puppy came by and let us all pet him.  He saw the statue and became really interested.  He circled it, walked slowly up and sniffed the statue's back paws.  He jumped back as if shocked by the results.

By the time everyone was finally out of the restrooms, the dog was long gone.  We began wandering aimlessly into the city.  Who knows where people thought we were going or where we were supposed to be going.  Some smaller groups broke off and went to some destination or another.  I stayed more or less with the largest group, which really seemed to be two groups following the same path, further down lower Manhattan.
