Random Rainy Day Thoughts

Big storms are big storms because conflicting fronts of temperature. So one very pleasant side effect of the President's Day blizzard was some very nice weather moving in. Friday was so nice, in fact, that I could walk around Boston very comfortably without a jacket. Which I did.
I filled out some paperwork for, and put down the first payment on my apartment for the fall. Hot stuff. It's a very sexy duplex a block and a half away from Columbus Ave, which is the southern border of campus. I'm excited to live there. Josh (one of my roommates) and I want to get a short-haired, little party dog. The lease says no dogs, but we'll talk to the owner to see if we can bend the rules for party dog.
Also, I filled out an application for a bookstore and have an interview next week. It's not Trident, my dream bookstore job on Newbury Street. They were only accepting applications for the café at that point, and I just didn't have enough desire to fill out an application for that when I knew I'd be rejected. I'm talking about the campus bookstore here. I think I have just enough random experience and the right time availability (nothing to do after 12 any day except Wednesday all next quarter). I'm hoping I can work a ton of hours and possibly be able to pay for this apartment thing without going completely in debt.
So things are looking up for the future. Well, except for the weather. If only it had stayed Friday forever. It rained as if this were Seattle, except cold. And I decided to walk around in it, freezing my cahones off and getting soaking wet, on Newbury Street (Abby and Kara dragged Josh and I into Armani... they wanted to go in the café and have five dollar coffees, but eventually thought better of it when it was crowded... reason, making a triumphant return in the end). At least we ended up at the Pourhouse for 1/2 price burger night (when the burgers are only 4 or 5 bucks to begin with). It's a sweet deal. Mmm... double-decker Hawaiian burger.
Oh, but I almost forgot what I bought at the Virgin Records on Newbury Street. For a $1.99. Josh split the cost. Hint: lesbians. Hint: teenage. Hint: Russian. YES, IT'S TRUE. I got the DVD of the music video for "All The Things She Said." Totally hot stuff, and if I ever need to show T.A.T.U. to anyone again, I'll be set. After the Pourhouse, Josh, Ben and I watched it twice. Excellent. Talking about it makes me want to watch it again. They sing and grope each other and get totally wet all video! I know some people out there who don't appreciate fake lesbians in school girl outfits, but I don't think there's enough of that kind of thing in this world of ours. |
