The new A and AS Level Music courses allow candidates to study music as a practical, intellectual and creative subject. There is recognition that we live in an age of cultural diversity and particular Areas of Study cover a wide range of music: classical music, world music, popular music and jazz. Each area is seen within a broader cultural and historical context. There are six units. AS Level students take units 1 to 3 only. Students wishing to take AS Level should have a minimum of Grade 5 or equivalent on an instrument or voice and a minimum of Grade 6 for A2. You will be expected to be involved fully in musical activities both in and outside of school and when required, to participate in the Senior School Choir. |
