UPDATE:#3:
Sorry this too so long and most of you have by now spoken with Deb and Jeff. Thanks for coming out last night and supporting us. Not a huge crowd which was nice to have close friends together for an evening. Unfortunately, for us, Deb was not feeling up to singing. I am working hard to get her song posted on this site so that you can all enjoy it as much as I have. Jeff too, is up and about. Having some trouble with his bathroom duties and dressing himself but getting by. Thanks again for support MIST on Saturday and most of all showing your love for Deb and Jeff. UPDATE #2 Jeff was up and about today. Had the chance to visit with Deb. They are so cool. Bound now by something that we might not understand. Anyway, it is just a matter of time until they are both their ole selves. Deb insists that she will make it on Saturday night. She has asked that no more food be sent and thanks everyone for their kind gestures. She will be calling all of you in the next few days. Mike is working hard at putting together the Calgary event. So for those of you travelling down I am sure he will be able to use some help. He can be reached at my place until next Wednesday. At this time it is uncertain as to whether Deb is going to Calgary although she insists she will be there.
On the musical end of the spectrum. Some of you were aware that Deb was working on producing a new song. Until now not many knew that she had been practicing from time to time with Drew and I and would like to introduce you to the song on Saturday. I am unsure as to whether she will truly be up to this or not, but Drew and I will support her in any way we can. Look for an update tomorrow. Thanks for respecting her families wishes of quiet.

UPDATE: I spent the afternoon with Deb and at her request took her to Hawrlak for some fresh air. Probably not wise for her to be out and about yet but as you all know Deb is not an indoor creature and it was a beautiful day. She is in quite a bit of pain (severe headache) and is very stiff and sore today. She wants you all to know she will be absolutely fine and thanks you for the flowers and plants. Jeff - well he's just Jeff. He slept most of the day and he too is in quite a bit of pain. Jeff is just happy not to have to go to work today and is in very good spirits. I will be taking him to see Deb this evening for a brief visit. Deb's husband ordered her truck replacement today and yes, it will be identical (including HIU logo). She should have it within a week or so. For those of you who went to impound please do not mention the severity of the damage to either of them. Deb is already having a bad case of guilts over Jeff's injuries. Pictures have been taken and at some later date she can ponder what could have been but not now! Deb's family thanks everyone for the meals being delivered on an almost hourly basis. (I especially liked the Turkey one) and also all the flowers and plants. It appears they have enough food to feed an army for weeks. I, at Deb's request, will keep you posted. She is already looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday night.
Deb and Ian

As most of you are by now aware Deb was involved in an accident on Sunday night two blocks from my home. She has asked that I give you a brief update as to what happened in an attempt to stop the rumours. She realizes that she was travelling approximately five miles per hour over the speed limit and was upset by some news she had just received from a friend, but that she in no way was responsible for the accident. The rumour mill has it that Deb and I had had an argument and that she was upset while driving. I am not sure why any of you would even think such a thing as those of you who do know us would realize that that is the most unlikely scenario. She had received some unsettling news from a friend and was upset as she left. Both Drew and I attempted to have her stay awhile and settle down, but of course she would not listen. As she was leaving Jeff was arriving and jumped in her truck to accompany her home. You all know Jeff...continually trying to save Deb from herself! Her ultimate hero who this time was unable to help her. They were broadsided by an impaired driver. A witness reported seeing the guy get out of his vehicle and walk away without even attempting to ensure that Deb and Jeff were okay. The police were called by this witness who did attempt to make both Deb and Jeff as comfortable as he could. I was called to the scene by Ted (my old partner) as he recognized the HIU logo on Debs truck. Deb was unconcious upon my arrival and appeared to have a few lacerations to her head and hands. Jeff, although concious, appeared to have difficulty breathing and appeared to also have a broken arm. Both were taken to Royal Alex. They both were kept for most of the night and released within hours of each other. Deb has suffered a concussion and has a few cuts and buises. Jeff has three broken ribs and a broken forearm. Both have been advised by doctors to complete rest for the next few days. They will both be completely fine. Deb is resting comfortably at home. I spent today with her and spoke briefly with her husband and daughters. They, as well as Deb, have asked that you limit your calls and emails to urgent only. Jeff, is staying with me for the next two weeks as we nurse him back to health. He too has asked that you not call for a couple of days. Debs personal emails will be answered by me and her partner Mike will arrive in Edmonton this evening and take care of business correspondence. Mike will also be staying at my place until the 21st of May at which time (again assuming Deb is ok) they will travel to Calgary for the HIU event. I know all of you care a great deal for Deb and of course Jeff, but please give them both a few days to relax and recoup. They have both requested that you come out to the Black Dog on Saturday night. Deb had one additional request. She wants you all to come out and enjoy the evening at Black Dog with MIST, but to please consider either not drinking at all or arranging for DD's. So you are aware. Charges have been laid on the other driver and he will be appearing tomorrow a.m. This incident has without a doubt rocked a few of you out of your worlds. Believe me it has rocked me to my core and most of us who truly love Deb & Jeff have had a serious reality check today. Deb is aware of how you all feel - hence her request for a gathering Saturday. I will try to keep you all posted and look forward to you joining Deb and I at Black Dog on Saturday. If you have questions please ask and do not spread nasty little rumours. Those of you who really know Debby know that she absolutely detests the mongers who spread untruths. Email me at the link below for the "no shit" truth. Thanks again for respecting Deb and Jeffs wishes.
