Fireworks Over London

Fireworks Over London originally started several years ago (sometime in 2002) as an indie-rock band with Jonathan Kenney and David Sparks.  After a long, fruitless search for a drummer, the band broke up for both personal and circumstantial reasons.  After Fireworks Over London broke up I, Travis, decided I wanted to jam with  whomever I could find and do something totally different from Fireworks Over London, perhaps something I'd never even tried before.  Within a month of the breakup, I met Seth Hendricks through a mutual friend, Matt Parker.  When Seth and I jammed together, it was instant chemistry in a completely non-sexual way of course.  Both of us, disgusted with the bands that the music industry was producing, wanted to try to do something somewhat new and original (our highest goal is to write good and creative music).  The music we developed with each song we wrote.  It was definitely different but good.  So, Seth and I kept jamming and decided to start try-outs for a drummer and a bass player.  Seth was playing in another band at the time and their drummer was Tony Crutcher.  So, at one of their practices, Seth asked Tony to come jam with us.  When Tony jammed with us to our songs, it was amazing.  Tony's unique style of playing the drums was perfect with our music.  Tony probably composes half the talent of our band.  So, we had three members set- Seth on vocals and guitar, Tony on drums, and me on guitar.  Now all we needed was our bass player, so Seth called this guy who was still in high school, Chris Oliver (I had to mention his schooling because we always gave Chris hell for being in high school- hah).  Chris came and jammed with us and just as with Tony, was a perfect fit.  What Chris had to offer on bass was exactly what was needed for our music.  As a true rhythm section should, Tony and Chris immediately began to weld together- feeding off of each others' style.  The band was set... but we needed a name.  Well, we tossed around some names but there wasn't anything we really liked until Seth said well... what about Fireworks Over London?  I asked him if he was being serious and he said he was and that he loved that name.  Chris and Tony said they really liked it as well... so... we had our name.  Fireworks Over London had come together, and after several months of hard work and good times, our good friend Zack got us a show at the New Daisy and it's all history from there.
