Dodo- Extinct

The dodo was a large flightless bird with stubby wings. -It was a bit larger than a turkey.

The dodos were killed for food by islanders and sailors who came to Mauritius, an

island in the Indian Ocean. The sailors brought ashore animals like cats, rats and

monkeys.The eggs of the dodos were eaten by these animals. It was first seen by

Europeans in 1507, and extinct by 1681.
