The sun was abroad yet amongst clouds ominous in nature. T'was a perfect day to venture forth into the cyberworld. Yet today wouldn't be another ordinary day. The parents inhabited the household thus eliminating the option to view buxom blonds on my 19". It was at this realization that the trademark "bink" of ICQ drilled it's way onto my eardrum. The task at hand was to answer it. So with a deft right-hand slide, to the lower and right of the pad coupled with an equally deft double click overtop the green flower,. I had my assignment for the day. It was to download MetalKnights. The mission had been handed down to me by the man I called Simkin. He insisted I "get thhis fuking game its sooo COOL!!!!!!!!". How was a net-newbie to refuse? Keep in mind these were days of old. T'was a quest in itself to connect much less download anything greater than 5 Kilobytes in size. Pending the clouds above halted their impending and inevitable attack, the download should have taken no longer than 10 hours to complete. So it began. So it ended. A raise of the fists followed right afterwards by the lighting of the cigarette was nigh. I had triumphed! MK was mine! The only task that remained was to find means of funding my $12 registration fee. Being the young, inexperienced butcher that I was, I was spending my paychecks on medical expenses and replenishing the rapidly depleting cattle stock. Thus, how to get this money remained as a question. The answer did come, but a second job was required (see Occupation). My adventures in this realm are another story in itself. Smider also introduced me to an interesting bbs. "What a novel idea!". I then proceeded to bumble about in the typical newbie flamer fashion. The likes of BubRamone, Falstaff, Strategian (to name a few), quickly dashed my posts to paste. I decided to reevaluate my approach to flame-posting. The community here is fascinating. That's what keeps me here. Story: I believe I started sometime around June/July of 97 (a "great server crash" ,that restarted the hof on igl at least to 0, occured a month or so after I started). I seem to remember being utterly bored and utterly broke and deciding to check out some of the game site links I'd gotten when I used the internet starter kit for my chosen ISP... Lo and behold, there was the shining beacon of cheapdom before my very eyes. It was also the only interesting thing around that was under 10MB (a weeks d/l in the good old days ;P). After playing half a dozen games and being thoroughly unimpressed with being unregged I decided that I really must get regged so I could start beating everyone I met into paste. Unfortunately, I fullfilled my expectation for the most part and romped all the way to lt.colonel (with no direct advice. I read all the help files and tips pages tho being the smart little munchkin I am). I joined my first alliance during this time (Born To Win Again). Some of my most fondly remembered kills come from this time (Whitecrow, Paingod, Pig in Zen, Shade, Matthew, Atlas, Chris, Mortal [this bragging session is now concluded]). I then got kind of pissed off with MK in general, quit BTWA and took a nice long sabbatical. When I came back, I took up a standing offer to join Hells Dominion where I enjoyed playing with CowTom, Atlas and Mortal. I started MokeMan's MK Tips Page around this time (MokeMan was CowTom's creation, where are you sucker?). When all those guys retired I found a good enough excuse to be bored again and left the game once more (but not before I started the Otakings Alliance on igl)... However, I had sown a deadly fruit in the form of Bigbug who came back to haunt me and forced me to play games in the hope that one day he might beat me (one day he might even get the guts to try. lol). Story: My oh my, Comrades. It began in September of 1997, reached fruition in January of 1998 with the creation of the Atlantic Alliance with 2nd Commendente Eradicatorr (now long dead, bless his sweet little soul), and ended March of 1999 with a retirement of little fanfare. I cannot enumerate the fine fellows within the Atlantic Alliance, it would be fair to say all that wore the Atlantic Tricolor have small compartments in my heart (as to render the aforementioned heart unsinkable). Lastly, it is impossible to stress how much joy I have in knowing that the Atlantic will go on, and strengthen, even though my time in Mk is finished. Onwards!

Since I wasn't born rich, I make do with The Sierra Nevada mountains in California, the Mexican Carribean, and California's hunting and fishing. I'm married with a 4 year old daughter and another kid due in the fall of 1999. MK has become my main gaming outlet since I became a family man and can't dissapear for entire weekends to play massive board games like Advanced Squad Leader and Advanced Civilization anymore.

Story: I started playing MK in Aug98 when I installed it off of one of those $10.00 game packages. I had to wait about 30mins to play online because I had to upgrade from MK95 to MK98. After that was taken care of I got to playing and I got hooked after about 3 turns. I gradually saw a lose in job performance and my interest in my girlfriend. Eventually I had to cut it down to about only 2 games at a time. I think I have actually started getting worse than better for a while and now that I dont get much time to!

I joined the Dark Knights for a short amount of time, and Mouse helped me out some, and then I ended up in the Steel Hearts, which was a great bunch of guys, especially Sabot and Goose/Big Guy. that alliance died when almost all of us were inactive or playing 1-2 games, and then I created the seawolves to play Clanwars with Halfbee. I got a lot of help from random talks with Gungho, Leijkar, and many others. I've just been playing with United Nations for the past 3-4 months, and that is a great bunch of guys too.

I started playing around September of 98 and I was hooked right away. I regged the second day playing and managed to win 3/4 of the games I joined when I started. In that one that I lost I met up with Trotsky, who took note of the Cadet (me) doing fairly well and the rest is history. I joined his clan and over the next weeks I pestered him continually for tips and tricks, do's and don'ts, and various strategies. From there, I spread to the other servers... making more aquaintances as I went... but oddly enough I never really knew many calibre players til I discovered the Flame board. I have derived many hours of enjoyment from this fine game... but above all its the interactivity of it all that keeps it interesting. Thanks to all the comrades I've made and for the countless fine games we've played together. : )
