Defy the Cubicle: The Truths of Men

When a man decides to follow God in his life, there are several facts that are often overlooked.

These are the basic facts behind my individualistic philosophy. It was first inspired by the German philosopher Immanuel Kant (1724-1804), who was outraged at the passive acceptance of every dictated fact from the nobility and clergy by the peasantry. Kant claimed that all men should be "scholars", finding truth on their own and trusting no moral statements relayed to them by other men. Of particular focus were priests, who at the time simply recited sermons handed down from Rome regardless of whether they believed the message or not. Kant had the right idea: moral codes not found in the universal truth of the Bible cannot be imposed on others, regardless of their practicality, because the truths on which these codes are based are individual and apply to a man only if God hands down the edict himself. This is why Christ emphasized the necessity of being sensisive to God's word. "He that hath ears, let him hear." (Matthew 11:15) God can tell nothing to he who will not listen.

Now, this philosophy will seem to those who scrutinize to be self-defeating. If truth cannot be conveyed from one man to another, you ask, why do you bother telling us your philosophy? It was revealed to you by God, being nowhere in the Bible, and so it only applies to you. Shouldn't you keep your moral code to yourself, as you claimed?

Men will always try to relay truth they have found. This is a positive thing. It establishes fellowship, it strengthens bonds between men, it puts their own views into perspective and it allows those who will, one day, hear and recieve this truth to recognize it when it comes. I hold nobody to my moral standard. If you want to hole up in some grotto and study books men have written, hoping to draw the truth from their experiences, that's your own choice and it makes you no more or less sinful in my eyes or His. If you choose to embrace the cubicle, working your entire life for money and living for everything but yourself, do it with my blessing. It's your choice. However, this website is now a part of your experience. All I ask is that you consider what I'm saying. I can ask no more.
