Tasting was a big surprise. All beers had the same taste and aroma !!!!! This means: Very sweet, roast malty, yeasty, very flowery spicy. A spiciness which is unique and distinguishable and the mean time the major characteristic of all these beers. I was already surprised the old Rochefortoise Brune was so similar to the Caulier one. Although I'm nearly sure the old Rochefortoise is not 10 vol% but rather weaker (6.2 vol% being the correct one ?). The aging has also made this beer taste different. Foam head was the smallest of all. All beers must have had a very similar brew recipe. Close co-operation bry. Caulier and La Rochefortoise ????? Anyway the resemblances between the four beers was mostly exceptional ! Are Pannepot and Rochefortoise Brune from Caulier the same beers ? Taste experience gave both beers exactly the same. This in contradiction of what Joris P. already mentioned that the Pannepot was sweeter. Well, I didn't taste that. For me they were equal sweet (very sweet this means). I only noticed a difference in foam and after looking into the Pannepot bottle I noticed a big blurry yeast layer which after shaking kept sticking. The Caulier Rochefortoise Brune had much less bottle yeast. A small bottle shaking removed the yeast completely and left a clean bottle bottom. My verdict: A different bottle conditioning yeast has been used in the Pannepot. This means another recipe, and therefore we're not talking LABEL BEER here !

Many thanks to Patrick and Dominiek and the whole staff of taverne Pado for this most exceptional beer taste evening !

CHEERS !
