MISCELLANEOUS:

  • Baby sitting $1.50/hour. Your children will be well attended. Balinese people love children.
  • Bring flashlight and light thin towel that dries quickly.
  • There is a masseuse available for $6.00 an hour. Also Nur Salon in town is wonderful and cheap. Hati Spa is also great.
  • Observe dress codes in temples. Made can help you dress appropriately, with long sleeves and a sarong and waist tie. Men can wear the same.
  • You can get around by hiring a driver with a car. There are motorbikes, public transportation, and car rentals. We always hire a driver as it is reasonable and safe. The driving is pretty hectic.
  • Bring mask and snorkel gear, mosquito repellant for the evening.
  • Bring antibiotic for possible tummy troubles (Cipro is good). There is a medical clinic before the bridge going to Ubud - close to the Penestanan road exit. It is clean and you are well received.
  • Drink water only from bottles. We have large bottles in the bungalow.
  • Learn some Indonesian words, it will be appreciated.
  • You can buy and process film in Ubud. It is easy to get most anything you need.
  • It's always hot in Bali. Get yourself some good travel books to answer all your questions.
