SOURCE-Family History
GEORGE and ANNA brought their family to Tiverton Twp of Coshocton County, Ohio, from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in 1835. At that time, their oldest child, GEORGE STROUSE JR., was 16 years of age. The youngest, MARY, born in1834, would have been a toddler. We can only imagine the hardships that they encountered on their long and tedious journey from Pennsylvania into Ohio. The first Ohio Federal Census record for GEORGE STROUSE SR. is the Census of 1840, Tiverton Twp, Coshocton County, OH (Roll 387, p. 361). There were seven children in the household; five sons and two daughters. During their 37 years in Tiverton Twp, GEORGE and ANNA raised their children and farmed their land. As shown in his Will, GEORGE STROUSE SR. was a prosperous man.
