Suffering
Dear Friends,
There are many times when you are down in the dumps and no one to tell. You just don't have a friend in the entire world. Maybe your boyfriend or girlfriend has left you. Maybe you've lost a lot of money or you've lost a very close friend or relative. Maybe someone has insulted you. Maybe someone has hit you or run you down. Or maybe you have been honest to the teeth and there is no reward for honesty Hey ! relax, everyone in the entire world has problems. There is not a single human being in the entire world that does not suffer at some time or the other. Sometimes no words can describe the pain that one goes through, no one else can understand the depth of the pain and its gravity only the person that's suffering. The head lies dazed and one looses interest in the surroundings, yesterdays peaceful life is transformed suddenly into a nightmare. One roams around in a daze with deep depression and an empty feeling in the heart. Food looses its taste, insomnia and confusion are the order of the day and one wants to know - why me?
Sufferings are of two types Mental and Physical.
Mental agony is the worst type of suffering as it affects the mind that controls the entire human being. When the mind is affected by extreme emotional stress it can no longer successfully co-ordinate the faculties of the body and untold misery arises thence. Long bouts of mental agony can lead to insanity. Mental agony is usually brought about by some thought of impending danger or by an insult. In fact all problems invariably lead to mental agony; mild or intense.
Physical suffering is bad but can be controlled by the mind as is proved by heroic events down the centuries. There have been people that have been bitten by sharks, tigers mauled by bears and dogs and lived to tell the tale. Physical suffering is of two types wounds and diseases. The thought of loosing a limb is extreme physical and mental agony.
Suffering is referred to as having an effect on the heart and true it is because the heart is severely affected in matters of emotion. This is proved by a person suffering a heart attack after receiving bad news.
People say "Time heals". The question is how much time. Days, months, years.....it all depends on the type of problem and the resilience of the person.
The first thing that a person asks is extreme situations is "What is the meaning of life?", "why do I have to go through all this?"
Do you want to talk about what happened to you and how you suffer. Then send an email to me giving substantial proof and it will be published here. Even if it does not make it here, I will still correspond with you and console you telling you of others that have had similar mishaps.
