Selection Tool
To use the selection tool find this icon on your tool bar.
On the selection palette choose from one of the following preset shapes which are Rectangle, Square,
Rounded Rectangle, Rounded Square, Ellipse, Circle, Triangle, Pentagon, Hexagon, Star 1, Star 2, Arrow 1,
Arrow 2, and Arrow 3.
Place your mouse on the image click and drag the mouse until the selection is the size you want is enclosed
in the marquee.
To modify the selection use the SHIFT and CTRL keys.
SHIFT makes a second selection or adds to
the existing.
CTRL deletes from current marquee.
What I like about this tool is that this tool allows you to be able to select
part of a section in preset shapes and apply plug in filters, colorize, add texture, and so much more.
For example: Have you ever wanted to just apply kaleidoscope to a corner of an image
not the image in a whole?; this tool is prefect for that.
NOTE: If you try and greyscale a selection it'll still greyscale the whole image, you can choose to use colorize
just turn down the saturation to 0.
