Frederik Chopin

1810-1849

This is my little page dedicated to the most brilliant person of all time. His music is too beautiful to even describe. His Nocturnes haunt me and are with me wherever I go. Nocturne Opus 72 is like my theme song and it has been since I was six years old, but I didn't know it until two years ago. it's a long story... I know this all sounds corny- but, I can't help it. I play his music on the piano, but I feel like I'm ruining it... It's almost too beautiful for anyone else but him to play...

Portrait of a young Chopin

The death mask of Chopin. He died of Tuberculosis at 39 years old. I can't even imagine the music that would have come from him if he lived longer. He was a frail man, who was constantly sick.

I wish I knew what went on inside this mans head. His journals and various letters to friends and family have been published in the book "Chopins Letters". Right now I'm in the process of reading "Chopin in Paris" which documents the ten years he spent there.

yeah, yeah, I know I sound like a nerd... But I guarantee that if you hear the right Chopin song at the right time, you'd feel this way too...
